My interview for grad school today hopefully went well! First interviews for me (either first of the job hunting "season" or new kind of interview) can be a bit rough, but I realize all the ways to improve for next time. I'm super excited hearing about the research, the flexibility it would provide for research topics, options to increase my publications, and immense opportunities to learn new skills and assist with other student and teacher's research! There is also such diversity within the projects even within the same lab! I know I get excited about every new opportunity, but I'm immensely excited about the possibility of this one! Feel free to send positive vibes my way about this opportunity! :heartshape:

Excited to also have a second interview for the small mammal trapping position on Friday! That is the last step, and I should know soon after that if I will be provided an opportunity with them.

Sending a billion positive vibes your way. :vibes:

My positive for the day is I think I found my crumbcake donut that I loved. It's at Dunkin', but I think they renamed it to Apple Crumb donut. I also looked on Tim Horton's website, but they don't have anything with crumb in the name. So Dunkin' must be where I got it. I'll have to stop by and get one next time I'm in town.

Also, I joined this site Monday. Which is positive in of itself!
Welcome, glad to have you! Anything special bring you to the site? I joined when looking for advice introducing 2 kittens to my older cat Isabelle.

Well, Snuggles slept by me last night and woke up with me this morning.
That's the best!! I love cat snuggles over night.

I just wasn't able to really connect with anyone at school because they are most dog lovers, so this provided with some nice cat discussion!

You've come to the right place then! We love talking about cats! :jive: :banana1: I've had a hard time connecting with others at school, too. My good friends both graduated last spring. I tried to make new friends since, and found some people I thought would fit the bill, but plans always fell through, they canceled last minute, or blew me off... so just focusing on myself and planning and working towards my future goals. I have three cats, so they are excellent company! Is that your cutie in your profile pic? What's his/her name? Hope you enjoy your cat discussions here. This is a really great community of people, in my opinion.

Glad the P.C. trip is over. The ride home was very rough as there are tons of potholes from the constant freezing and refreezing.
Snow today, bitterly cold wind chills. Just heard the snow will turn into more Lake Effect snow by tonight and tomorrow. We may
get 6 inches or more, yikes!! I'm so glad I bought the new boots. Saw a smokin' hot guy at P.C. he turned around and I saw he
was the priest giving Blessings and Ashes, ha!!! I have good books, DVDs and food so I'm set for a storm.

What is P.C.? I hope the storm isn't too bad, I'm hoping the weather will start warming up in March. :crossfingers:

My positive for today is I ordered my vitamins from Vitacost and to get free shipping, I threw in the Purely Elizabeth pumpkin granola and some banana sauce. I have no idea how to use this banana sauce, but I love bananas, so I thought why not? Here's what it looks like. Any ideas?

That's too funny that the hot guy ended up being the priest, haha!

We've had snow here, too, and school was canceled today. Although, still not a lot of snow, as some of the blades of grass are still visible. I don't have classes anyway today, but it is still a good excuse to stay inside since it is not getting about 30* today! Enjoy your snow day!

Never heard of Banana Sauce either. You'll have to let use know what it tastes like and what you tried it with! With the color, it made me think of a hot sauce, or ketchup, haha. *** Just researched it since it is so intriguing. Supposed to be a sweet ketchup sauce made with bananas and no tomatoes. Sounds tasty!

So here are the ingredients I first read in the product description: this sweet ketchup is made from mashed bananas, sugar, vinegar and spices

But then they also have an ingredient list, looks like food dye helps with the color: Water, Sugar, Banana, Modified Starch (Corn), Vinegar, Iodized Salt (Salt Potassium Iodate),Onion, Chili, Garlic, 0.1% Sodium Benzoate as preservative, FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Red No 5, Titanium Dioxide, and Artificial Banana Flavor.

Wonder if there is any kick to it since it has chili?

I had the small one, on the right. Bought it over a year ago. It is good for keeping litter from the sides, but not the front.

I was just thinking, today, that I should probably order a new one. The litter is starting to stick: Dr Elsey’s Precious Cat.

I’ve been so worried about Lily. She’s been drinking a lot and has peed outside the litter box a few times. She’s also had gradual weight loss. Given her age—almost 16—and her symptoms, I had visions of kidney disease or diabetes. After blood tests this week and a urinalysis, it turns out she has a mild UTI. AND she was extremely well behaved at the vet’s office! She’s dehydrated which caused her BUN to be a bit elevated, but every other value was completely normal. They gave her a shot of antibiotics, and I’ll add more water to her food for the next few days. For the gradual weight loss, I’m going to bump up the fat content of her food. I’m so relieved, though!
