Does she say how or why she got into acting?
She started out modeling and that got her on the road to acting while she was with/married to Freddie Moore (her first hubby and where she got the name from). I never watched GH while she was on. I became a fan when she did St. Elmo's Fire. The story she tells from THAT is something else. it's a good read.

I read ebooks on a librebooted [1] Lenovo X60 tablet:
Good to know. I asked as I was wondering who all could read ebooks, if we ended up choosing one from Bookbub, or another of the sites with free books, for a future book of the month choice.

So .. who else can read e-books?

I read both ebooks and physical books.

I have the Kindle app on my phone and also Moonreader for non-Kindle books. But I still keep hard copy books; in some of the series I read, not all of the books are available to the UK as e-versions.

I've just re-read some old favourites by Anne McCaffrey (Crystal Singer series) and am just about to start the October Daye series again, and then the Incryptid series as I had new books in both series for Xmas :)

I read e-books on my iPad 99% of the time using the Overdrive app. I did check out a “real” newly released book from the library last week because the wait time for the e-book was almost a year (!) and I got the physical book after a three-week wait. But I’m so accustomed to an e-book that I kept tapping the page to try to turn it!

Oh, I don't mind paying for ebooks. Authors have to eat too.

I simply cannot, in good conscience, support Jeff Bezos.

 .....so this probably was a very dumb idea on my part; anyway, I do appreciate your time and the advice on my kitten's inappropriate elimination, catios, harness training, and general adjustment to the great indoors.

You all have a great day now.

I don't a delivery date yet, but I think by the 29th. I could have gotten it faster if I'd started my month free Prime trial right away, but decided to wait till I could get more use out of Prime, and find out what all it offered.
I simply cannot, in good conscience, support Jeff Bezos.
I resisted joining Prime for a LONG time, mostly because of that...however, with my mobility issues, and tiny budget, I had to give in eventually. Getting certain things I need delivered quickly, at a reasonable price, and to my door is, literally, a life-saver! And, because of my Medicaid, membership is half-price, and I get Prime TV, which really helps, since I had to decide between cable or internet.

I'm reading the last of the Leaphorn and Chee books that I have on hand. "Cave of Bones." So far, it is excellent. I'll have to take a break after that, until the new book, "The Tale Teller," comes out in pap...WAIT! IT COMES OUT IN PAPERBACK IN THREE DAYS! I just ordered it, and an ethernet cable to try to fix my buffering issue! They'll be here just after the weekend!

Until it comes in, I'll read one of the lovely books that I got for Christmas! Maybe "Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs," which is not nearly as bad as it sounds!

OH GOD HELP ME, I KILLED THE THREAD! No posts since SATURDAY! This never happens! I KILLED IT!

I did finish "Cave with Bones," which was excellent, and have started "Lethal Bayou Beauty," the second book in the Miss Fortune series.by Jana Deleon. So far, it is just as laugh-out-loud funny as the first! Envision a group of elderly women, who are much more than they appear, trying to teach an undercover CIA operative (female, and supposedly a retired beauty queen) the finer points of hair and makeup via FLASH CARDS!

Simulaneously, I'm also reading "The Diamond Trilogy," by Natalie Singletary, a local author. In fact, she lives only a few blocks from it. It is slow reading, but only because it is written as a screenplay, or possibly a stage script, which slows me down, but the story is fascinating, and tragic.

Well, I'm going across the pond and back. I'm in the UK with The House on Cold Hill and back
in the states with Demi Moore. Cold Hill is creepy but in a good way. There is a sequel, The Secret
of Comfort Hill.
Mush is going to read it soon.

I read a bit of the link that was posted about Jeff Bezos. According to the author of the article, people
who buy novels from as, he calls it "Swindle", AKA Kindle, remember less of the novels than those
who read the book from another source....hmmmmm...

I am slogging through Believe Me by J P Delaney. I hope it has a good ending because its so slow. I picked up The Secret of Cold Hill by Peter James from my library this morning. Cant wait to start it. As Mia6 Mia6 said above, it is the sequel to The House on Cold Hill which is a good scarry read.

Consider the source before giving any credence to his views. MIT wants nothing to do with him after he expressed his views on statutory rape. The vast majority of people wouldn't condone his opinions on child porn laws, either:

Richard Stallman leaves MIT after controversial remarks on rape

You killed it. But then revived it. So all good.

So just reading on the Kindle, or all electronic devices? :hmmm:

So, speaking of Kindle, my Kindle Fire 8 arrived yesterday. :woohoo:
I haven't done a whole lot with it yet, but no complaints yet.

As for reading, I had an appointment this AM, and had to wait a LONG time, so started and got halfway through the Demi Moore book. Another celebrity with a dysfunctional childhood and adult life. :(

A few free books that were priced right, some Honorverse re-reads and quite a few Discworld books as March 12 is coming up. Hard to believe that Sir Terry Pratchett has been gone almost 5 years.

I'll certainly have a look - is it on Kindle? :)

Wow. Can't believe it's 5 years since Terry Pratchett left us :( my two absolute favourite Discworld books are Mort and Pyramids.😍
