Things improved late this afternoon.

I did lay down on the bed, calling him. He jumped up, cuddled with me for an hour or so. He was very warm. I know this is from yesterday. I get the same way. So I can relate. A couple years ago, I had 2 extractions along with a bone graft. So I understand.

I fed him when I got up from the bed-. He ate. Around 4pm he emerged to eat, use the litter box, stretching and using his tall scratching post.

The Vet Tech called. I told her about his voice. She said it was probably from the intubation tube.
I will keep mentioning it.

G is back under my bed. It is ok. I am gyro wash some dishes and the lie back down. I am exhausted.
My back has been bothering me a lot, the past 10 days. Worse this past weekend. Doing some stretching, which seems to be helping.
And some GI issues.

Well, I guess God really knows who to give the “complicated “ kitties to— ME!!! First Pumpkin, then Artie, now Geoffrey. And going to the poor house, doing so. Sigh.

He keeps coming out, to visit. Watching TV right now. So cute.

Honeybee on my lap, music playing in background
the pain meds often make them loopy and not able to sleep-it should be worn off by now..also maybe get a bit of pumpkin into him for constipation-that's the downside of pain meds but he probably feels much better now that those hurting teeth are gone...and yes cats don't chew-they lick their food and swallow whole.

Hoping the throat abrasions clear up in the next 24 to 48 hours. So sorry they weren't careful with his throat-that's the only thing I can think of. :frown:

What about baby food? Will he lick it off of a long spoon?

Hoping for a smooth recovery!

The backache could be dehydration-make sure you are drinking enough liquids! It's been really COLD and it sounds crazy, but we can actually get more dehydrated than we think in the cold! I don't know about your area, but my area has been super cold and dry air...Get better soon!

foxxycat foxxycat thanks.
Geoffrey is much improved!!

His voice is back. Began yesterday afternoon.
He is eating really well. Feeding him only wet food

Geoffrey pooped a good amount lady night. I gave him some miralax, to fend off constipation.
He slept most of the day, under my bed, emerging late this afternoon for food.

Geoffrey gave himself a good bath tonight. Have not seen such a good one since Monday morning

He is lying on top of my bed.

G is doing great!!

Wish I was. My back is a ton worse. I could barely walk and get up from a seated position, After I showed and did some stretching. The stretching was painful.

I managed to get to the funeral. Came home, ate an apple with peanut butter, took a combo of 2 Advil and 2 Tylenol. I learned this combo from my oral surgeon.

Called my PCP, left a message for her to call and also emailed her. I am waiting .,

I think she has Wednesday s off. Dam

Just staying on my recliner or on the bed.

I need to find a good local chiropractor. I do not know anyone who uses one. I do not feel like driving into Boston for this.

Geoffrey is doing awesome. 🙏😻

So happy to hear Geoffrey is doing better.
Sorry to hear your back isn't. If I lived near by, I'd help you out. I know what its like! Im actually doing a massage trade tomorrow, for the first time in a few months, which is long overdue, now that I'm cleaning houses!
Sometimes when my back goes out/ into spasm, I learned that as much as I want to stretch, & do still try to a little, but sometimes you just need to rest it. What usually works for me is wearing my lumbar support belt that I wear when working. Cold pks for the inflammation, & a combo of ibuprofen & muscle relaxers. By doing that & wearing my belt, what used to last about 4-5 days has gone down to about 2-3 days.
I have a good belt that I got at Walmart. It actually said for muscle spasms, etc.. as well as all the support stuff. Its the Mueller brand. It was $ 23.00.
Try to take it easy, & I hope you feel better soon! :hugs: :hugs:

G is doing great!! Geoffrey is doing awesome. 🙏😻
So happy to hear the good news about Geoffrey! :woohoo: Now you have to get some relief for your back. :vibes::vibes: Everyone is different but I find not sitting in one position helps me. When I stand up and move around my back loosens up. Core exercises really help too. Fingers crossed G continues to improve and your back issues resolve.:crossfingers:

That's true. Everyone is different. Depends on if you know whats going on,etc..
For me, I was told that my disc between L-2 & 3 & between L3 & 4 are beginning to degenerate. With all the up & down, bending,etc.. I do cleaning takes it's toll sometimes. Antiinflammatories help me the most. Thats why too much stretching sometimes just agravates it when its bad.
But, yes, if I've been sitting around for a long time, I do get sore & stiff.

Geoffrey is doing so good! I am really amazed.

He slept with me all night; jumping down to eat.

G ate an entire 6 oz can of food 🥘.

He is peeing a lot. Most likely because I am adding water to his canned food.

It does not seem as if he is missing the dry food. I kind of think that is good. I had to order another case of food , from Chewy.

This morning we played with Da Mouse wand toy. He went crazy. So happy.

Geoffrey is talking! Not as much as he usually dos, but his voice is 99.5% back to normal.

I can tell he lost a bit of weight. That is ok, as he was getting a bit chubby.

Last night I was taken back by him. I went into my bedroom , expecting him to be under the bed or on the small file cabinet which is under the window.

I did not see him on either; thinking he was under the bed. I turned my head, saw him on top of my printer!! ThE printer is on top of my very tall chest of drawers. This is a favorite spot of his : as much as I hate having him there. I have a couple of beach towels covering it. Looks terrible, but who cares. I have to choose my battles.

Geoffrey must have felt so much better. I did not have the heart to shoo him down.

My back: my PCP was in. She does not read her email under the end of the day. She was very upset that she did not get my verbal message to call me. She wanted to know who I spoke to.

She is off today, but said I can come in Friday afternoon.
She approved of my Advil/Tylenol combo. Continue with it. She can add a muscle relaxer also. I need to get a heating pad. I do not know what I did with mine, when I moved.

After taking 2 doses of my Med combo, staying on the recliner and sleeping in bed —mattress is only one year old, Sealy Posture Pedic, my back feels better. Not normal but better. Waiting for the morning dose to kick in.

Geoffrey needs more litter. He is kicking out so much! I cleaned his box on Sunday, new litter, I have 1/2 box left, but at this rate, I will use it this weekend. It is so heavy. I can get someone from the store to put the box in my truck, but how to get it out???

Anyway that is the latest update.

❤🙏

Good morning! What great news to hear first thing today! 😁
I am so happy Geoffrey is feeling much better, & eating that much is great!
Also glad to hear you are doing better too.
Yes, the muscle relaxers will really help. I usually can only take 1/2 of one along w/ the ibuprofen, otherwise, I'd be sleeping all day.
As for the litter, maybe one of the maintenance guys , or someone who works there can help carry it in for you. 😊

Such wonderful news about Geoffrey! He must really be feeling good. I love a happy kitty. :redheartpump:

I have a friend with the same problem. She opens the bag in the car and carries it in smaller amounts in a small pail. She dumps the litter into a tub and comes back for more until she gets the bag to a manageable weight.

Geoffrey update:

He is doing awesome! I cannot believe the difference in him.
All he wants to do is: eat, play, cuddle on bed.
And talk!! Omg. I cannot shut him up!!!

Telling me he needs food!! He used his litter box!!!
He wants to play!! Or he wants to cuddle!!!

He is eating at least. A 6oz can, daily! He is getting chubby! Geoffrey does not want an empty dish down or an empty place mat.

Geoffrey must be feeling so much better. He must have been in a lot of pain. Poor thing.

There are 2 things I wish I’ve had an on ad off switch for. 1) constant meowing!! Too much. and 2) he needs to cut back, a tiny bit on the food

G is not demanding the dry food. I am really stunned at this. He used to demand it. I wonder if the dry was easier for him to swallow.

New thing I he wants room temperature wet food. Before the dental, he did not care.
Also, since I add extra water to his wet food, he is peeing a ton!! Had to get more litter.

All in all he is really doing good. Almost like a different cat— and acting like a kitten.

Looking out the window:

You can see his big belly.

❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏😻😻😻

Thanks to You all.

Is his name pronounced like Jeffrey? That's my brother's name.
Yes, it is pronounced Jeffrey, but spelled the English way: Geoffrey.
I thought it sounded more dignified.;) :flail:

His original name was Goofy. No way was I gonna keep that.

I also call him Jeffie.
