I can tell you right now that they aren't cheap. First off, you need a large enough gas meter to handle the volume needed. Then there is the transfer switch and installation. Ours is a 16kw, able to power even the central a/c, and ran just over $7000, including a remote monitor and surge protector. Smaller units, that power only essential circuits, are less, of course.I think ours is just a portable one. Dad hooks it up to one thing at a time--- shower, TV, or computer. The whole house ones sound better! I want one.
