Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Citrus does repel kitties! Banjo thought the orange was gross and watching me eat it was disgusting! Lol She just didn’t believe it was yummy. Lol

I grabbed the camera early today. As soon as I went in the cat room, I saw snuggles.

It’s not time to get up!

Rats, I was having the best dream! I had a new hat!

She’s not listening BJ. It must be “clean the cat room day.”

I did let them get a little more napping in. It was “clean the cat room day!” Lol Flowers refused to leave.

Kodiak helped me get dressed though. She combed my hair for me.

Ahhhh. Washed it too! It’s amazing how much shine cat spit can give your hair!

Then she dried it and finished with a relaxing head massage. Thank you Kodiak!

Then it was clean up time! Sorry kitties but you spilled kibbles everywhere last night! At least I could do my cleaning with a lovely new hairdo! Don’t tell Kodiak but I’m going to wash my hair now!

Have a safe and great night everyone! :heartshape:

I have gotten word that one member is safe although damage is nearby. Grateful for their safety. To anyone in the path, hoping power remains and no more snow. :kitty:
That's why, 2 years ago, we had one of those automatic stand-by generators installed. It will power everything in the house- heat and a/c included. We've only needed it once, and then only briefly, but it is nice insurance to have.

N NY cat man Those whole house generators are awesome! I’d love a standby since I have spent a couple of weeks without the well
pump/water or power. Not fun! Lol I’m lucky though, lots of fur to cuddle up with. Hot days..... not so much cuddling. I ask the kitties to twitch their tails for air currents.

M maggiedemi BJ was only grumpy because I woke Flowers and she stopped cuddling. You know how he likes having his ladies to be curled up with him. He usually gets up before I do and lays beside my face. It really tickles when he breaths in my ear!

rubysmama rubysmama I think cats can go right back to sleep and dreams anytime and any place if they are relaxed. Bj has a special talent for relaxed sleeping.
I’m not too fond of cat spit for added body. Lol It may be my imagination but it seemed to add texture? :barfgreen: Shampoo! Lots of shampoo! She did it again this morning too! I might start wearing a shower cap first thing in the morning.

Very talented sleeper. Dreamer too?

Sometimes smiles are really needed. Perhaps a warm smile can help even more. The kitties are doing their part to send out some warmth.

Look what I found in the garden today BJ. It’s an old Bandminton birdie.

May I add someone to the request for Prayer and best thoughts? Some here know of the Aleppo Catman/Ernesto Sanctuary in Syria. They have been impacted many times by the war, and now they have to evacuate the entire sanctuary and all of the innocent lives in their care. I have no idea where they will go. Praying they have a safe place in all the insanity and chaos. House of Cats Ernesto – The official website

I think ours is just a portable one. Dad hooks it up to one thing at a time--- shower, TV, or computer. The whole house ones sound better! I want one.

Why do cats have to taste everything?! 😂

Praying they have a safe place in all the insanity and chaos.

Apparently today is Dress Up Your Pet Day.

So purr-haps you can post a pic of the beautiful Lady in her pretty dress. 👗
Or that dashing gentleman, BJ, wearing one of his fashionable hats. 🎩
Or, of course, anyone else willing to "Dress Up" :catman:

EDIT to add the below excerpt from the Dress Up Your Pet Day website.
It is important to note that Dress Up Your Pet Day was started to promote wellbeing and encourage bonding between pets and their owners. While some dogs are happy to don a snazzy jumper or a winter coat, not every creature will be content to trot around the park in a tutu or go for a walk dressed as Yoda or Captain Hook. Pet costumes should be safe, they should be comfortable, and owners should never force an animal into an outfit. Some models are much more willing than others, so take care to read your pet’s reactions and proceed accordingly. Double check every outfit for loose attachments, for example, buttons, and make sure there’s no risk of a pet overheating or struggling to breathe or move.
Just getting caught up.
Gypsy was leaning against the pillows so after letting her check them out I laid the tu-tu across her and leaned the princess hat half on her head and half against the pillow:

As you can see ih the last photo she was pretty relaxed about the whole thing.
The mousie was not quite as well received.....I got the stink eye

While helping wrap Christmas presents she wore her Santa hat

Nothing fastened to her, just balanced and she was free to leave if she wanted to in all the above photos.
She accepted wearing her new sweaters:

and seemed to enjoy the warmth on a windy chilly January day:

She has 2 H harnesses, 2 regular leashes, 1 always used bungee leash and two jackets. The collar is never used solo.

She is the former neighborhood stray who decided to allow us to become her loving Minions. Although she still wants to she is not allowed outside alone. She doesn't wear anything in the house not even a collar so we don't have to worry about her getting caught.

I am currently in front of a county commissioner review of the animal control laws. In particular, TNVR. It’s a true battle. The ignorance exhibited needs to be addressed. Education is key. Many of us are trying to remain calm but the numbers just related make it difficult. The county I am currently monitoring has the highest eithanization rate of healthy cats in the state. The Department of Natural Resources contributed to the negative issues by relating the decline in bird populations and it is being attributed to cats rather than car, removal of environment/habitat , decline in food resources for birds, being hit by cars etc. They also were either not asked about, or did not give the numbers that are controlled by ferals in the rodent population. Watching public comments that are misinformed is very difficult. Best Friends. Org has been mentioned as a group that understands all the issues and can provide the best working solutions. Volunteers are present and have been privately funding all TNVR as well as doing all the work themselves. The county squelched much of that work last year. I was talking to a feral colony activist this morning about fundraising and was told a feral colony was raided today by animal control. The colony manager was left to watch. This is completely unacceptable when the solutions are at hand and that is a colony that is fed, sheltered and vetted. It’s been a hard day for kitties but tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 prayers said by all, for all.

I hear you and I absolutely echo your frustration and other feelings (including, for me anyway, anger and rage at the closed-minded and even more so at the originators of this BS anti-cat, bird-fanatic and irresponsible dreck that is costing so many innocent lives! Predators were created to prey upon their prey animals. Cats are predators. Their main prey, by far, is small rodents. The birds they do take are most likely weak, for the most part, as healthy birds can usually evade them easily. In fact, cats do bird populations a lot of good by taking the weak and the sick. Some may not like this but we're not at the "lion and lamb" stage. Cats have long been prized for their ability to control rodent populations. They are also the most beloved companion animals globally. Wild birds? Yeah, they're pretty, they sing, and bird watchers like to look for them and watch them and draw them and so on. Those are the facts. Well-managed TNR'd colonies are an asset to their communities. Best Friends and especially Alley Cat Allies have the facts and have long cited the many studies proving this. alleycat.org/TruthAboutCats everyone should read it and share it. The sorrow and frustration we feel when we hit brick walls is real. But we must keep going. And we must not ever give up.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I’m not giving up either. I actually have a pretty good idea about their pocketbooks. Lol We all know that saving money “counts!” The meeting is over and the TNVR was voted down. Not totally rejected though. There were two members I would like to present with a gold star! It is tabled for reworking and another consideration in two months. I happen to love seeing birds too but the reality is just as you stated. We can’t go against nature. We are not that powerful. Working with it is far better. If you’ve ever tried to swim against a rip current then you understand what happens when you fight nature. Swim with it and you emerge rapidly. This is just one more step towards a working TNVR. I hope those who are keeping this down will start having sweet little kittens in their dreams so they fall hopelessly in love! No cure for that beyond loving kittens!
:vibes::redheartpump::gingercat2: If only I could find a way to sentence them to spend a year here! I know just where to take them to learn about loving kitties!
