hi all,
‘This isn’t a cry for help. Rather, wanted to send a post saying how despite all the awfulness and drama of trying to introduce two cats together who clearly aren’t amused by your insistence that they be friends, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
I had reached out to this fantastic community on here and got some brilliant advice, encouragement and much opportunity to whine about how long and terrifying the process can be (blood sweat and many many tears). Now, a full year in, my two furry demons are doing so much better. they aren’t quite at the stage of sharing cuddles and kisses but I doubt that would ever happen. The simple fact that they can now sit next to each other, share a bed and even LOOK at each other without fur flying is fantastic.
if you ever find yourself giving up hope at a successful introduction, just breathe and remember it may take far longer than you ever imagined but it will happen eventually. :)

Awws :)
Your cat lying showing its belly is obviously very relaxed and in a friendly mood. :)

My Barley and Bourbon, after years of being together, are also not exactly the best of friends, but they tolerate each other. There are still some swats here and there, hissing and growling especially coming from Bourbon (actually ONLY coming from Bourbon!), but that's about it. Barley has always been the most tolerant one, the kindest and friendliest cat I have ever known. You can put new cat (or dog) in front of him everyday, and he will accept immediately. Bourbon is a different story, though.

Aww, white one with black markings looks like he’s inviting the other one to play 😉
Yes she is! Unfortunately never taken up on the offer.:running: The black and white is squeaks (or skeeks as I call her) and the one with the lovely orange and white bum is Pittan. Both girls, and Both grumpy kitties!

Yes. She’s realized that being a house cat is amazing And she takes full advantage :coolcat:
Bourbon sounds like my Pittan (the orange one)! Barley sounds like an absolute gem. Give them a cuddle from me

Hi Natashan Natashan ....thanks so much for posting this thread.
It's so nice to read updates,....where tremendous improvements....have been made.:)

(Sometimes people don't realize...how much updates helps other members...realize...how good their advice, or comments, support,...has helped the OPs. Also, because life is so busy...often times...OP's don't come back to ...actually write updates.)
So thanks again.

I have not read your 'cat-intro' thread...yet....
But if you were to pick just ....5 things....that helped you with your own 'cat-intros....what would they be?
(there are many members, here, that may be going through....similar situations....so maybe some 'insider advice'....may help)

This is great. I am in almost 3 months of introductions between 2 alpha females and it's been pretty damn stressful and tears to have to rehome the new cat! New cat is extremely friendly to people-I have been working with her to see what tips her off and she literally lets me do whatever I want except pick her up or touch the belly or back legs-but she will sit and let me pet her for an hour or more!

I hope my 2 devils can work it out!!! My man has fallen in love with Lilah and I REALLY don't want to break them up-but we may need a seperate home for them-new kitty attacks my cat and even attacks stuffed cat animals..so not sure it will work out...thanks for the thread!

Needed to read this today, thanks. I'm at month 10 and have been seriously considering rehoming the newbie to a family member whose cats might be more tolerant than my resident girl has been. It's been so frustrating, but you've given me hope. Did you have to medicate one or both, or did you manage without meds?
