That extra day off was a godsend, and today went well too, I'm now using the 9,000 lb. lift to elevate carts to a level where I'm more comfortable working on them, minus the strain on the lower back muscles and whatnot. We also made a good-sized dent in cleanup and reorganization of workbench shelves... many older parts no longer needed will be cleared out when we auction off the Club Cars out back, we have 8 or 10 of those to sling at auction and all associated parts will go with them, which will free up plenty of shelf space. The big boss wants all that obsolete junk outta there, and I'm with him 100%, no point in taking up shop space with boxes & boxes of parts we no longer use or need. So there's light at the end of the tunnel, and I can visualize a clean and well-organized shop in the near future. It was such an unholy mess, and already it's looking better, so that's a big positive for today... I gave MuuMuu a can of cat food and a small bowl of milk too, so she was a happy barn kitty, LOL. :cutecat:

My positive is the colder weather has brought out Carleton's playful side. He constantly wants to play with his cat toys especially da bird and the lattice toy balls that jingle. :dizzycat: He's so comical, he looks like he's playing soccer with the balls.
My cat Tiger looks like a professional soccer player when he takes the plastic jingle balls downfield, LOL... :coolcat:

Life is beautiful with a cat! Cats, actually. :)

The girls were such troopers today. First the cleaning folks showed up and, horror of horrors, vacuumed! The girls watched carefully but didn’t freak out too badly. Then the people showed up to install our new blinds. The girls hid but came out when I waved treats in front of their noses. In fact, Lily plunged her face into the treat container when my back was turned. Then the guy showed up to fix the front door, and they had to hide again. It was a stressful day for them, but they really did well.

It's finally sopped snowing but oh so cold, about 9 degrees now. Cal hasn't even gotten up yet.
Yesterday I watched some movies and kept warm. It was very cozy, made hot cocoa with whipped creme.
Hope someone shovels today. Finally all hoodies and coats washed!

Another day of work done, my feet are tired but I'm resting them now while using the library Wi-Fi... pretty soon I'll have the Internet at the house, when I first moved in I didn't want it because I had so much to do and I didn't need the distraction. I've missed some good football games too, but soon I'll have my football weekends back, which will be nice since I'm a big fan... college and pro games. I don't like how some pro games seem rigged with bad refereeing, but my love of the game goes WAY back to when my friends & I played football in the '70s. It's such a cool game, and very exciting when two well-matched teams have multiple lead changes. As for my favorite play of all time, that would probably be the fake kick, I love it when a coach or offensive coordinator throws that play into the mix and pulls it off, LOL. Second favorite play would probably be the reverse, third the classic Hail Mary pass to the end zone... 🏈

You said a mouthful there including college!! LSU the first half, 'Bama the second half, and yeah, holy cats, the professional games, GEEZ!!

third the classic Hail Mary pass to the end zone... 🏈
Heh, GO Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers - love this guy, Kansas City Chiefs' Mahomes sidearm throws, and maybe, just maybe, one of the Broncos new quarterbacks woop woop!!!

So, I've had some amazing things lately - first, today was a much better day on the tennis court than yesterday, in large part because I remembered my hat so my eyes were shaded from the sun.

Our neighbor, with whom we've had some previous parking issues, is doing a terrific job lately of parking his vehicle to the point that he'll temporarily park, move his trash cans out of the way on trash pickup day (today), and actually come back and move the truck a bit more forward so that I have enough room to get my car out of the garage/down the driveway without having to worry I'm going to hit his trailer hitch.

Yesterday, I was doing my usual "oh I don't need a grocery cart" and as usual, ended up carrying too many items. Sure enough I finally dropped a couple, and there was no way I was going to be able to just do a deep knee bend and retrieve them since all the rest would land on the floor as well LOL. To my surprise and delight, a boy about 9 or 10 years old out shopping with his mom popped right over, picked up the items, handed them to me and bounced off on his way.

All's absolutely right in the world when this happens.

Today I complimented a credit card phone rep, and it had quite the impact. I don't know if the person was new to the job or what, but for him to hear that he'd done a good job really meant something. He asked if he could let his manager listen to the recorded conversation (of course). ….

Sometimes you never know the effect you can have :)

Two positives today!

Fayola's eyes have been responding to the eye drops I bought her and her eyes are no longer runny gunky stuff like they used to! Yay!

I also went out with some classmates from school and I had more fun than I thought I would. They are really nice people.

Great news!!! I knew they'd be nice. What about that fella?;):D

Yesterday was cold but sunny. Helper shopped, made copies for me and did the dishes. I'm still enjoying the Granny Smith's.
Had a salad with Romaine and blue cheese dressing and hot dogs.I'm turning into Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 , by the way are you ok?
Haven't seen you lately.:(

I snuggled with Cal while reading on my tablet. She was up against my back. all 15 pounds of her,,,felt so soft and warm.

Mocha was staring into the fire this morning, but when I said her name, she turned and looked at me. May not seem like a big deal, but it took this formerly scared, former feral more than a year and a half to learn her name! Then she jumped over to the sofa and onto my lap. Beautiful girl, beautiful day. :redheartpump:

The morning sky was filled with pink clouds, now the sky is bright blue and it's a sunny warm day. Last night the 2 beautiful cockatiels got out of their cage and I fortunately woke up in time to grab them both before beautiful cat and beautiful dog got to them! It's a zoo over here but it's one I love!

Funny you mention him... if you're talking about the rude one I spoke about previously in the "What's on my mind?" Thread, he actually held the door for me the other day and apologized when he bumped into me. That's a positive worth mentioning.

And if you're talking about that other guy, well, not much has changed other than we talk a lot more now. 😊

Looking forward to meeting a group of women for lunch today that I've been friends with since college. It's amazing that we've stayed in touch and still meet once or twice a year. We share old and new stories together but the most positive part is that our friendship has lasted throughout the years. :heartshape:

Small things can sometimes be better.
I did my grocery shopping yesterday because I had to go out and replace my space heater that conked out.
That means that this weekend, I don't have to leave my house if I don't want to. I can hunker down and stay warm. Winter came WAY to early around here, so I'm happy to stay put!
