My poor son. Yesterday he had classes then went immediately to work and pulled a 13 hour shift. He just got home and is catching a 4 hour nap so he can go to his classes today. He is supposed to go get his car serviced, but I am going to take it and he can use my car so that he can sleep the extra hour.
I know that a lot of us worked our way through college, but when it's your child, you can't help but feel bad for them.
At least he can sleep when he gets home until tomorrow when he has to go take his mid-term and then pull another 13 hour shift at work.
I'm currently experiencing something similar. I know classes are important and all but I almost never have time for anything else. Our instructors even told us that we will have no time for sleep and relationships in this program.

I feel bad for your son because school is hard enough but when you throw a whole job into your schedule, that's another story. My sister was working and going to school but she had to quit one of her jobs and drop a few hours with the other one.

My area is under a tornado watch until midnight. Yay

If it was a job like McDonalds I would tell him to drop the job. I will take care of him as long as he gets good grades (he makes Deans List every semester). But he is a residential tech at a mental health hospital. It's in his field and too good of a job and experience to just drop.
He's trying to get his schedule changed to the nights when he has late classes the next day.

Prayers!

What's on my mind is people who make decisions about things that involve others, but don't take the feelings, never mind ownership, of those others into consideration. My dad is a co-owner of a horse with another person. That other person just up and shipped the horse out of state to her niece or something, without consulting my dad. You could possibly say that she did it to avoid my dad getting the idea to ride the horse, which is quite a handful for even a healthy person to handle, which he isn't. However, since then she isn't giving my dad any updates, never mind photos ...grrr... I'm disgusted, irritated and frustrated, and will be having a chat with this person to try and find out what's going on/what the thinking is.

I'd be furious. If it were me, she would either be paying me for my half of the horse, or she would be going to court to pay me for my half plus court fees.
Personally for me, and this is just me, I would never co-own a horse. Someone could undo my training in 5 minutes what it took me 6 months to train.

Good luck with the woman.

Thank you :)!
I thought about that too, but I don't think Dad's ready to sell...
Tell him to sell the horse and buy a mini. He may not be healthy enough to ride a hot horse, but driving doesn't require much. Even a disabled person in a wheelchair can drive a mini. He just has to be healthy enough to harness it and get into the cart.

That makes sense.

You remind me of my mom. She's always helping out in any little way that she can. Especially when I'm stressed and rushing to get things done before their deadlines. I don't know what I would do without her.

I'm late, and QUITE short on time today, but I had to get here!

That's interesting. What time do you eat dinner? 🌭
I don't really eat a "dinner." I do a light supper around midnight, and a VERY light snack around 2am.

Really wish the vet clinic I take the boys to needed a housekeeper, but I'm pretty sure the techs keep things tidy.
ASK THEM! You never know.

Now I have to run. There will be marauding hooligans out and about very shortly!

Lari Lari that mask is well done! Happy halloween!

I was going to post a separate thread about this but I decided since maybe I've lost my mind I'd hide in this thread with my insanity.

I can't be alone here. Unless I'm going crazy, which, is quite possible. I feel sort of nuts right now.

I have supplements and medications to give the cats. All the them have syringes, or many of them. Sometimes I'm given multiple syringes as over time the stop working right or the numbers fade off them. Each time I look at some of them I think - well this syringe looks less for 1 ml than this one.

So tonight, after getting 3 more syringe and going WTHelk.. okay maybe my eyes are funky.... so guess what I did ... yup ... I actually measured them (plus some older ones) and I'm not nuts. (debatable right now after what I just did but still) Each one that states 1 ML some are less than others and some are more. :-| I don't understand why this is.

And really - I don't know if it's humorous that I decided to check it out or pathetically sad that I did. All I know is that the OCD girl in me that wants to make sure I'm giving the right amounts finally lost her mind and had to check. I'm not insane, my eyesight is fine.

Am I the only one that has noticed this?

No, I have noticed that measuring spoons vary by as much as 5-10%. An insulin syringe is probably your most accurate measure.

Isn't he just the cutest little rat you've ever seen? John and I recycled our chef outfits and Aedan was the rat from Ratatouille. At first, he wouldn't wear his ear. We kept putting them back on and taking him inside and people gave him candy. We just went to relatives and a couple of trick or treat events. Well, I guess he started to associate the ears with candy and when we got home, he refused to let us take them off! He's a smart cookie, haha.

Maybe the syringes are slightly different. If one is a bit fatter or even a thicker plastic, this will throw off the measurement from one to another.

Thank you! Good idea. I think I'll do that as 1 ml is such a small amount and looking at the liquid that came out of each - the difference is absolutely noticeable. :-)

They are. That's what made me do a double take as the amount of liquid I was getting in each seemed different too. So even though the line said 1 ml. Each one was not 1 ml on the line. Was driving me a little batty. Especially since the medication says 1 ml - you of course want it to be correct.

:)

Now Teddy is obsessed with the top shelf of my closet where I shove everything I'm too lazy to find a place for or get rid of lol It's hard dealing with a tree dweller when you lack space.

I didn't think he could get up there, but he has figured out that the top of the closet door, when folded, gives him a good launching point, there's just no room for him. So I'm going to clean it up this weekend, and wash the pink plaid sheet and make him a little nest up there with it. Not sure how he will get back down, but it's a few inches lower than the bookshelf and he has jumped straight down from the top many times, so I'm not worried.

Watched The Witcher trailer yesterday and I AM SO EXCITED FOR DECEMBER 20TH. I think I might read the books, or at least put them on my TBR. The upcoming show has gotten me curious about the original source material.

For goodness sake, REMIND ME! I've been waiting for it, but kept forgetting when it was due!
There are two trailers out now!

Are you a fan of the books or games? I've never read the books and have only seen clips of the games, but to me the show looks awesome.
