MOD NOTE: This has been taken from the All Things Books and Reading thread so that things can be sorted out to suit members.

................................................................................................................

Mush, I think this will be the first time we've ever read the same book at the same time!
I'd read it too, but my library doesn't have it yet. :(

It could be fun, though, if some of us read the same book at the same time. Of course, I'd probably be the slowest, both in reading and having it become available. Though if we chose an older book, maybe it was be easier/quicker for me to borrow it. Raise your hand, or you know post, if you'd be interested in doing a "book club" read. I'm game. :wave2:

I like the idea of a book club or something similar.
The Turn of the Key was excellent. I read until late last night but had to stop with just 50 pages left so I set my alarm 1 hour earlier to finish the book. I was not disappointed. Hope you enjoy the end @Mia6

So about our little book reading club..

So far there's me ( rubysmama rubysmama ), Mia6 Mia6 and V verna davies .

Did I miss anyone. Or anyone else maybe interested?

Not sure how we'll work out the logistics, especially with my e-book limitations/wait times, but I still think it might be fun to try. :read:

we could read an older book.....like In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware or Killing Me Softly by Nikki French. Rebecca? That's a classic. What are time titles you guys can come up with? :read:

Apparently not "older" enough, as the wait time is 21 weeks! :rolleyes3:

Killing Me Softly by Nikki French.
Only 2 week wait for that one. So a maybe.

Rebecca? That's a classic.
Of Sunnybrook Farm? If so, the ebook is always available, as it's a classic.

Not sure if anyone has read this, or is interested, but here's one book I currently have borrowed, and may read next.

I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb

I Know this Much is True sounds good. It maybe a little difficult getting the times to match but maybe we can start with a list and see if we can get a bit of a timetable going. I borrow books from my library, usually pretty quick if the book is not new.

Picking up The Last Time I Lied from the library today.
That one's currently available at my library.

I should also be getting Margaret Atwood's The Testaments this week!
I have it on hold - I'm # 15 on 14 copies, so I "paused" the hold for 2 weeks, or until I'm ready to read it.

I just reserved I Know This Much is True from the library. they have it in the basement and I reserved The Last Time I Lied from another library which will come shortly. I own Killing Me Softly and Rebecca by Daphne De Maurier.

I Know This Much Is True is available at my library. Hopefully we can pick something soon so we can get it for October. I don't even mind buying the odd book. I've never belonged to a book club per se except Oprah's. I read a lot of her recommendations and they were often books I probably wouldn't have picked but I'm glad I read them.

I read”This much I know is true”; many years ago. Truthfully; I found it to be depressing.

I got the point of the title; however, Orr was a depressing process of getting to the end of the book.

Just my opinion.

So we should come up with which book we're going to read soon so we can start.

I'm suggesting: Killing Me Softly by Nicci French
Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
In a Dark, Dark, Wood: Ruth Ware
The Last Time I lied- Ruth Ware

What are your suggestions?
