So sorry we weren't here to support while catch was happening, still not caught up on full story, had to skip to the end. got chores to finish before sleep. She's a real sweetie, good vibes for all
Wanda Heart is in excellent hands and paws! What an expressive little face she has. And yes, the tail! and those long, long fingers. She has some characteristic "red cat dark spots" under her chin, too. A lot of red cats will get these, and their noses and gums may also get them, as time goes by. Our Nikki T. got them. Rojita didn't -- she was a much darker red than Nikki, who was "yellow" with a white undercoat.@Lari I had to start tonight off with our big boy.
A sleeping giant.

I hope everyone found their kisses from Wanda Heart. Funny how she looked straight at the camera when I was talking to her about all that. I told her how lots of people were worried about her here and have been hoping for her to be well and safe. I could swear she understood.
The clowder and our newest arrival sends
I KNOW I've shared this before, but it is my very favorite "KITTENTAIL" gif...Mamanyt1953 You aren’t alone in loving baby kitten tails. Lol They fly them like little fur flags. Proud little beacons of baby cuteness.
She does!I KNOW I've shared this before, but it is my very favorite "KITTENTAIL" gif...
You know what? Little Wanda Heart has the most luxuious whiskers ever on a kitten! I'm in awe. And tell her that my kiss got here just fine!
I have no idea how Jcatbird manages, with all her cats, but here's a post I created with pics of all her cats, and a brief description. BTW, this was created prior to the arrival of Wanda Heart.Jcatbird - How many cats do you have? How do you manage?
26?! Oh Dios mi! I'm only allowed 6 legally in the city I currently live it. But I'd be lying if I said the thought of keeping all of Fayola's kittens never crossed my mind. That topic is still up for debate.I have no idea how Jcatbird manages, with all her cats, but here's a post I created with pics of all her cats, and a brief description. 26 and now 27! We cared for 31, two locations ago, and this was kind of fluid, because we had some "sometimey" visitors as well. It involves a pretty much open-ended credit account, LOTS of food and litter, and of course, an unending supply of love. I'm pretty sure Jcatbird will agree!I have no idea how Jcatbird manages, with all her cats, but here's a post I created with pics of all her cats, and a brief description. I moved here with 9, to a 6-cat limit location. Of course all of them were indoors-only and well kept, as was/is the house, so they bothered no one and no one even knew. Over time, it is now 3.26?! Right, because who follows by-law nowadays anyway?I moved here with 9, to a 6-cat limit location. Of course all of them were indoors-only and well kept, as was/is the house, so they bothered no one and no one even knew. Over time, it is now 3.
There are a lot of links in the animal advocacy media to help with vet bills, and there is also veterinary medical insurance. One great database is www.bestfriends.org/resources. Another is www.alleycat.org, the database of Alley Cat Allies, THE national and increasingly international source for all things "cat". You can also search these topics with your search engine. My one and only fear is vet bills!
I know I could manage them in every other way except for if something went wrong. Especially since Felix has been sick so much these past few years and we've spent thousands of dollars getting him to a good place health wise. I have developed a phobia and a bit of hypochondria for my own pets.
My mom keeps asking, "What are you going to do with them? Would you keep a kitten?" I just hesitate.
Well, in that case, we'll have to wait and see. Praying for a small litter since Fayola is a small girl. There are a lot of links in the animal advocacy media to help with vet bills, and there is also veterinary medical insurance. The reason for moving with 9 was an unwanted divorce. As it was, I had to airlift our other twelve beloved cats to sanctuary, because it is a big house, but not big enough to maintain that many in, and the yard has no cat fencing, and I was concerned that we would be pushing it at that number. It's a long story and I don't even want to start, except to say that that is one thing I really never will forgive my ex for.
Thank you for your encouraging words. You are my inspiration. I love reading your post over and over again because they make me feel better about the current situation I'm in. I know when the time comes, I'll probably have to let them go. And I know Fayola needs a lot of veterinary care. She's just gotta have these little jellybeans first, and then we can look after her better.Graceful-Lily I am jumping straight to your post for an important reason. Hang in here until the end though.
The law is the law. It’s enforceable and even if you have all the resources in the world, someone may cause you a problem with the kitties. I live in a rural area with multiple buildings and a house set up for kitties. I live minutes away from the vet and I work with local rescuers and my county. I have savings that I put away for the kitties and I am still working on other preparations for them. I would never suggest that anyone take in more than they can afford or that the law allows. It just causes possible issues. However, for anyone who can sensibly do this, nothing is more rewarding. You should also know that I never set out to do this. I saw a serious problem and tackled it. I had to set up a staggered program to bring kitties in by stages. I get discounts from my vet and it all becomes a very planned out situation. It’s always evolving too. Here’s a for instance...... I just took a bad fall. I am not totally laid up but, thank goodness two friends are willing to help right now. I will be funding this help too.
How do I manage? Endless love and lots of planning. I can understand wanting to keep kittens. Everyone who has followed this thread can tell you how I struggled to find homes and was torn between celebrating and crying every time a kitty went to a new home. The things is..... you have to do what is best for the kitty. If a good home comes up, give the kitty the best option. I still search for homes for some of these. Even though Wanda Heart has stolen my heart, if I can find her a happy home, I will let her go.
All that said, if you can find good homes for the current kitties, it leaves you free to rescue others. If you can, start saving and planning. Network and find resources. Never give up learning or searching. New help and better laws can show up every day. The world of cats is improving with every person like you who shows up. Working within the system to improve it is something everyone can do. Every cat helped is a step forward for all. Thank you for all you are doing. You are helping things move forward. A kitty hero!
I am glad the posts help. Some days go great and some are a challenge. We all learn as we go. This is a great place to get help and support. I did and do still. I would say ,” we are birds of a feather”. But maybe “cats of a Clowder”suits better. . We just do what we can.Thank you for your encouraging words. You are my inspiration.
