Rest you gentle, Oliver, dream you deep. Your pawprints are on someone's heart forever.

What a lovely boy Oliver was, and is, and will always be! He lives in your heart forever now.

What a gorgeous, lovable boy! I'm sure he is dearly missed, when we get through that first horrible phase of grieving, it leaves an ache that is physical in it's intensity. It leaves an emptiness in the heart that is slowly filled over the years, but changes us forever. That's how we recognize and emphasize with others going through the same thing. To gaze upon that beautiful face brings a longing and pain that cannot be denied. I pray you can find in your heart the thankfullness for sharing his life for a while, for sharing a love that few experince. RIP dear, sweet Oliver!

The bond that we share with our cats (and other pets) is truly a gift that only animal lovers have the privilege to ever experience. When a beloved animal departs this earth, only those that have loved too much can understand the grief.

Overcoming grief takes time. It could take months, even years. Only your heart knows for sure when. Because sometimes, when you think that you have finally got through it, a certain sight or sound, or a smell, will take you back again to the first day of grieving.

Oliver, you were so loved, and still is, by your human. I am sure you know that, as the bond you two have shared transcends beyond the limits of time and space. Rest in eternal peace, sweetie. You will forever be missed.

He was a gentle giant who was afraid of thunderstorms. And he was SO lovable. He came from "Whisperwood Cattery" which is no longer to be found. Marge has stopped breeding. She had such gorgeous cats.

About one year before he passed. His fav piece of carpet in his fav spot. he would lay there all day towards the end.

I feel your sadness. I wish there is a magic word that I can say to you to alleviate this emptiness you feel without Oliver.

Each time a beloved pet passes away, we usually keep anything that was a part of our pet, like this favorite carpet of Oliver. We have a cabinet with only mementos of our dearly beloved pets who have passed this lifetime: collars, food bowls, toys, blanket, vet records, etc. Once in a while when I am back home and I feel I miss them so much, I would look at those things and cry for hours.

Never gets easier. :(

I’m so sorry you lost him & glad you have all those beautiful memories to hold onto!

The best advice I got was to talk to him like he was still here. So as I pet my teen kitty I tell my Bud how dearly I miss him, start crying and long for Dante’s punk antics .... to have my shadow back .... to have him glued to my lap again!

So though you may not be ready for another kitten, perhaps in time you can foster a cat/kitten in need.

I could not bear an empty house so I started looking right away and found my new baby, Theodore. He is one year old now. I have many photos of Theo on this site now. (and videos). I still talk to Oliver and visit his grave to talk to him. I have many photos of my Oliver.

Thanks

I'm sorry for the loss of your handsome Oliver, he was such a wonderful cat, you have to be proud of an amazing perfection of the nature.
He didn't left you, he's still there, next to you, and he will guide your steps.

One of the first thing he did is to make you cross your path with another kitty in need.
Oliver told Theodore that your home is the best one around, and not to worry, because from now on his life will be perfect and hassle-free.

I admire you for the courage to open your heart to a new furry friend!

May your life together be long and happy!

P.S.: I can't find the album with the photos of Theodore

He was a beautiful boy and I am sorry for your loss. He is at the Bridge now, with lots of ladies vying for his affection. Your Theo is adorable as well.

I still talk with the babies I have lost. I know Oliver would approve of darling Theo.

Hugs,

Mia:hugs:

Saying that I am, "sorry for your loss" doesn't seem like it's enough, but it's the best that I can do. A person never "gets over" the loss of a pet such as Oliver ...You just learn how to cope with the loss as best you can. I know this to be true from years of experience.

Oliver was a very beautiful cat, inside and out, and he just walked all over your heart. He left his little pawprints there for ever, and you are so much richer for having him in your life for all of those years.

Oliver is a gourgeous cat, his colour is striking and his face is so loving. I am sorry that you have lost oliver and he will be with you always until you meet him in heaven. I am glad you still talk to oliver because he is listening. Trust me he is listening to every word :)
