Has anyone asked yet about the bone percentages for these foods? If not, I'll be happy to do it and let you know! I'm suspecting they must be on the higher end -- at least 10%, which I just can't do -- since there's no eggshell but feel like I ought to at least know for sure.

daftcat75, I understand your "soft spots" about various foods! I fed our very last portion of Rad Cat the other night and felt especially sad because I first learned about Rad Cat in 2013, when our previous cat was sick and dying. It was one of the only things she'd eat in her last days and our current cats have loved it from the start, too. They like the new Stella & Chewy's Selects and eat them consistently but they just don't dive into it like Rad Cat.

I know I’ve done the exercise of calculating grams of protein in Krista’s daily Rawz diet vs how much some vet paper said senior cats require grams / kg body weight. The math worked out. But the proof is in the cat. Krista thrives on Rawz like nothing since Rad Cat. I don’t think Tiki Cat Raw will be replacing Rad Cat for her because I’m still not sure about the bone and her IBD. But I do like the bone broth if Krista will eat it. But there’s no way I would trade Rawz for Weruva. Being single protein and gum-free makes up for any perceived shortcomings in the GA ratios.

Okay, fair enough. I’m just pointing out that Rawz is high in fat, that’s all.

I appreciate that it is high in fat. Presumably that keeps Krista satiated a little longer. Though I don't see it. The fur pig is hungry again in two hours. But I also appreciate that it is high in fat because I want her using protein for tissue repair and fat for energy. I don't want her body having to choose between energy and tissue repair. And I certainly don't want her breaking down tissue for energy needs. We're reversing skinny old cat syndrome in this home.

I also appreciate that it is high in total protein (e.g. the number of grams of protein in the can.)

At the end of the day, it's pretty tough putting lean body mass back on a senior cat with IBD and a couple of bouts of pancreatitis. Rawz gets the job done. There's something right in that formula.

I’m talking about the facility that it’s manufactured in though. I don’t even trust most facilities in the US. I’m pretty picky about where my raw meats are sourced from and food manufactured. I also want to know that the company uses whole meats.

We are computing different values. You are calculating dmb (as a percentage of weight) while I’m calculating it as a percentage of calories. I prefer this latter way as it is the way recommended by Dr. Pierson (Commercial Cat Foods)

Basically what my value is telling you is what percentage of the calories is made up of protein and fat. Given that it’s a calorie dense food, it makes sense that most of the calories are from fat. It would be strange for a calorically dense food to be primarily protein because fat is made up of more calories than protein.
I actually came here to ask about Tiki Raw and if anyone was tried it. I am thinking about putting my cat jerry on it but i got confused with the sorucing/manufacturing. I messaged them on Instagram and this is what they told me- the chicken and duck are sourced in the USA, and it is manufactured in Joplin, Missouri at their company owned plant.

It what I bolded all I told you!? They're not very good at communications. I sent them an email asking about the bone content of their raw food and they never responded. I got a reliable answer later (which of course I don't remember!) but it's very annoying how they tell people who ask questions on their FB page to PM them so they can have personal conversations.

I asked them about the PM's before and they said it was to make a personal conenction with their customers, and also so they can follow up with them down the road. I did have a similar experience about a broth question and sure enough 2 weeks lateer, they asked if i was able to locate at my store. Frustring to PM, but I appreciated the follow up.

Yes, the follow-up sounds like it was good in your case!

What I (and people who had already posted on FB) found so odd, though, was that the same questions kept coming up over and over and they could have saved everybody a bit of fuss by offering more information in the first place or pinning up a little FAQ post! But whatever! I guess I'm especially frustrated with Tiki because that wasn't the first time I'd attempted to get information from them but not received an answer.
