A follow-up:

All three cats love the TSC Paws N Claws, but it doesn't like them. The little one got the power poops and I had to give her a bath. The two guys puked it up, and the little one had to have her tushie washed this morning again. The only change was the wet food.

I may be able to work away the quantity of TSC wet food I got by mixing it up with their usual Friskies wet food.

I bought a bag of TSC dry stuff. They're getting to the end of their other dry food. Time to try that out on them. Hope it goes better.

I don't buy cat food at tractor supply BUT I buy the horse pine pellets and use that as cat litter! Biodegradable and no dust, smells good. Cats use it well.
I do as well. They are exactly the same thing that "Feline Pine" sells for a LOT more in a MUCH smaller bag. Glad a breeder told me about this. :purr:

Ditto! Just curious: was that the Kitchen Selects food or a different Paws & Claws? That experience also makes me wonder if the formula has changed for the ones we fed...

And I am so sorry to have mentioned that brand, yikes!

My cats won't eat any food from Tractor Supply anymore. So I only go there for litter now.

The can has a yellow label that just says Paws N Claws. It's a pate-type food, (which makes it easier for me to divvy two cans up among three cats).
I suppose the problems came from an abrupt change in food, rather than anything that wasn't wholesome. Their guts may become accustomed to it in a little while, but for now, they will get mostly Friskies when they have soft food.

Yes, some cats are pretty sensitive to quick changes in food! Maybe it was one of these (link!) that you got? These aren't the ones we've tried but they don't look bad at all, they basically look like Friskies pates.

I do remember that I fed both the turkey & giblet and chicken dinner to them. I haven't given them any of the other varieties yet.

They ate it readily and seemed to like it a lot. It seems to be much like Friskies pate, but definitely has more aroma.

more aroma
Yum! That's almost certainly why they liked it so much! Better luck with the other flavors. Maybe a little at a time would work better for them? I did notice that that particular Tractor Supply food has carrageenan in it, which can cause digestive problems in some cats. (The Kitchen Selects don't have carrageenan, which is one reason I chose those particular foods for our cats, who tend to have weird guts.)

Okay, another follow-up: I've been feeding them a 1:2 mix of the TSC Paws N Claws soft food and their regular soft food. They're doing fine on that. I think the initial problem was their innards weren't used to anything else and that's what made them sick.

The dry food I got from TSC was their 4Health "weight management." The two older ones are somewhat porky and I generally alternated between Purina's version of that and their "urinary health" dry food. Haven't tried the urinary health formula from TSC yet.

All three cats like the TSC food well enough and haven't had any tummy issues, but compared to the Purina it smells awful and looks more like rabbit pellets. Oh well, what do I know about pet food formulation? As long as it's supposed to be good for 'em and they like it...
