She was just sitting in the window and I noticed her fur appears to be ticked, though I am not an expert in these things by any means. Is her fur ticked, and is this pretty normal in a tortie?
The tips of her grey appear to be white, though it's hard to tell for sure, as she still has a lot of her kitten coat.I don’t think she looks like she has ticked fur. It seems like she has some strands of fur that are a different color, but that’s not the same thing as ticked fur, where each individual hair is banded with different colors. She’s very pretty!
Thank You, we think she's the bee's knees!Very pretty.
Do you have more photos? I'm not clear from the ones I'm looking at here - but am on my phone so not ideal.
Are the strands of fur different colours or is it that the tips of the fur are different?
lol - Kaylee has frosted tips? How very chic of her!I'm guessing that what you are seeing is "silver tipping" which is a lighter tip to the hair, often seen on blue cats or blue-cream (dilute tortie) cats. It's different from ticking.
Hmm... I don't think they are clear. I tried to get a better picture of it, they appear to be white? Still hard to tell with that kitten fur still hiding underneath!Chic? Who needs chic when you're Kaylee. Yes, she is definitely a super-cool kitty. She is very, very cute.
Hmm, how interesting that her gray fur bits have light tips. I wonder whether they are white or transparent. If they look as if they have a silvery sheen in sunlight like they've been frosted, which stands out from the rest of her coat my guess is that her gray has transparent tips. It is a rare but naturally occurring gray fur traight which is really beautiful.
