Hello. I’m new here. I have 3 cats. One is an all white DSH (Ollie) and the other is a Mackerel Tabby DSH (Rocky). I’m puzzled about my middle cat. Her name is Luna. Like my other 2 cats, she was found by my mom and me outside roaming around our apartment complex. We got her as a kitten. She has Persian qualities but no smushed in nose. She’s long-haired, a little portly and has short little legs. Is she just a DLH or does she have a specific breed in her?

Luna is so pretty! I would describe her as a brown tabby Domestic Longhair. If you post a sideview picture, we can let you know what exact kind of tabby pattern she has. I’m not seeing Persian in her, their face is much flatter than her’s. Luna has a fairly pronounced muzzle.

She does have a pointed nose. That’s why I didn’t think she was Persian. Here are side views of her. I think she’s Mackerel, but not sure. In the one photo, she’s the cat on top.

I agree with you, that she has the mackerel tabby pattern. She’s so cute!

Thank you! She’s my darling girl. She’s very sweet and a little timid.

I would compare her to a Sibirian. [Siberian]

I dont think she is very shortlegged. It seems many longhairs look as if shortlegged.

Btw. Google on the natural siberian. Masha Obninsk.

Nice story there...

Welcome to the site! I think she is gorgeous, and without papers her breed would be described as a brown tabby domestic long hair with a mackerel pattern. She could have some Maine Coon or Ragamuffin in her from the past. I pray you have many happy years with her!

Although it's always tempting to compare cats, especially longhaired cats, to various breeds... the vast majority of cats are simply domestic cats without any particular breed ancestry.

I googled Siberian and she does look like them. And I read Masha’s story. What a good cat! She’s a little hero!

Cats aren't like dogs. "Mixed breed" or "mutt" dogs are mixtures of various breeds. In contrast, most cats are simply domestic cats, not mixtures of breeds. She's a beautiful domestic cat with her own unique assortment of traits :)
