~ If it it dry food and looks/smells ok I would use it. Wet I would be more careful. Cats are fussy and if something smells wrong they leave it.
Perhaps test a little on your cat ..? How big is the bag ?

I agree. It's a small tear. You can always repackage it into Ziploc bags to keep it fresh. A box of gallon sized bags is only a few dollars.

6.6 pounds of Dr. Elsey’s. I have a dry food vault but yes I can put it in those hug zip lock bags. I have a lot of them.

Or - since Chewy's is sending you a replacement (they are So Good about that) - think about taping over the tear and donating the bag to your nearest shelter.
I don't think most shelters would take it. I know the ones by me won't take anything that's open. A lot of shelters only feed one kind of food and put donated food into a pet food bank and I don't think they'd want to give out a bag that's open in any way for legal reasons. It's sad that it has to be like that but you know what they say about a few bad apples.

I never chance it. I throw it away. You never know what could have happened. But I’m paranoid because of all the stuff that’s on the news.

I was thinking the same. No place is going to take this.

I recognized that bag right away. I threw out a perfectly good bag of Stella and Chewy because my cat got intolerant. Chewy refunded my purchase.
The Dr Elseys can go to a colony, or if you know someone that feeds foxes.
