One of our neighbors moved out and we were worried about who would move in. However, we met the new neighbor today and he seemed very nice. He's been working really hard to fix up the house since it was in need of updating. We haven't met his wife but hopefully she will be just as cordial. I hope they like cats! ;)

What a great day!My hubby's Father's Day gift arrived, and yes I gave it to him early and he loves it...yay!What do you give a man who pretty much has everything?A sun joe trimmer so he can trim his own tree limbs instead of having to ask someone else to do it.I can see him keeping himself busy for days:)Had a round of storms come thru night before last and although we came out unscathed, there was some damage done in town. One of my former assistant managers had a tree split and go through their roof...they are okay but their house...well.....and we have another round coming thru tonight. We are under a tornado watch till 11pm.Yippee.Interesting stuff going on at the bird feeder.A pair of hairy woodpeckers have brought their baby to learn how to eat at the suet feeder.I've never noticed it before...so very interesting! My prayers to everyone under the gun tonight and tomorrow.

I bought an ice cream cone today (banana peanut butter) to celebrate the heat.

We also let our butterflies go. That was a little sad, but it was a sweet moment having the students say goodbye one by one. The last one didn't want to leave!

I took Mordecai to puppy socialization classes and he did well. What I thought was aggression actually turned out to be lack of confidence. He barks at other dogs on leash and is out of controll when scared.
Puppy school made a huge difference for my brother's dogs too. That's interesting that lack of confidence was the reason.

That combo sounds amazing. :yummy:

My positive for today is that Maggie sat on my lap. Okay, well I put her on my lap and was holding her there, but it's progress since she didn't knife me.

BIG NEWS!!!

After not coming upstairs for over a year, the Vincie girl not only came upstairs but slept beside me all night, snuggled up against my legs and belly!! Oh, how sweet it was. I've been feeling rough lately and I think she knew.

She definitely knew! Cats are observant and sense our emotions. How sweet that she wanted to comfort you. :catlove:

Rain in the forecast throughout the Memorial Day weekend but DH got the lawn cut just in time before the storms roll in. :storm:

I'm feeling pretty blessed today! I lost my purse at the zoo in this spot where my group had a small snack, and it was still there probably an hour later, with someone watching it, and nothing stolen! I'm so relieved.

Here's a few pictures taken with my new phone - so excited I can zoom more clearly now.

Those are some gorgeous photos, Lari Lari -- thank you for sharing them with us. I especially love the lions, of course, though each and every animal is wonderful.
So glad you retrieved your purse and its contents intact! Yeah, how amazing is that?!:goldstar:

A kitty snuggle always makes the day or night better. :lovecat:

My day today.
I don't know where you are, but it looks like paradise. That drink looks good too. :)

Glad you found your purse. Love the pics, especially the giraffe and tigers.

My positive of the day is we got a new coffee maker after our old one quit. It's the Bella brand and it's really nice. It was on sale for $20 and you all know how I love a bargain.

What a relief you not only found your purse but it was intact. Nice pics with your new phone, i.e. great color and crystal clear. Which zoo did you visit, Brookfiled or Lincoln Park?

Lincoln Park! I grew up with Brookfield, but with my students' small legs, Lincoln Park is the better choice, size-wise.

Thanks everyone. It was a huge relief and I felt soooo lucky.

I was hoping you'd say Lincoln Park, that was my favorite zoo growing up. :yess:
Glad the students enjoyed their field trip too.

BREAKING NEWS!!!
The Vincie girl slept with me again!!! It was wonderful but Callie came on the bed and Vincie shooed her off by smacking her. Callie is too timid to stand her ground. This morning she sat on my lap while I was on the deck and Vincie girl gave her dirty looks but let her be.

Yay! Twice is nice. Let's try for three nights in a row. :)

Lelia came onto my lap area this morning while I was sleeping, too.
It seems like everybody is getting kitty lap time. Maybe my cats will be next. :crossfingers:

My positive for today is Demi made friends with a toad. I think that's alright? He didn't seem to be hurting it, just talking to it. My sweet little boy is so desperate for friends. :redheartpump:
