PITA kills cats & dogs, that's another shocking thing I found out about.
I don't hear about these things until I see them in my news feed. So sad the things animals have to go through. :(
I understand PITA euthanize's feral cats. That is why I will never donate any money to them. Lets not start another thread on PITA. They do some good sometimes.

I just came back from dropping Felix off. Really hope they get everything this time around.

Also on my mind, my allergies are acting up now that the air is warmer and the plant stuff is flying. I've been sneezing so much. My eyes are red and ichy. But I don't take medication until I break out in hives which is rarely.

The fleas are also really determined this year. I've picked off a few adults and I check daily but I haven't seen any more. Not sure what their plan is.

It's PETA but yeah. They have something like a 98% kill rate at the only "shelter" they run. Not because they offer euthanasia services for sick pets either. PETA does not care about animals; don't donate to them. Individual members may care about animals but not the actual organization.

As for race horses, what did you think happens to those who aren't good at racing or have finished their careers? It's a very cruel industry. Apparently other countries have better practices but the US horse racing industry is awful.
Horse racing’s uncomfortable truth: Horses die — 87 last year alone in Pa.
Snowing here. Come on, haven't we had enough.
THIS IS ARIZONA FOR GOODNESS SAKES.
I have a Facebook friend who just moved to Arizona from here. She probably brought it with her ;).

I had no idea. Nobody ever told me. I've never seen it in the news.

It's PETA
Whoops! Thanks. Well the other spelling works too.

I notice this a lot with horses everywhere. I don't know what it is but whenever they "serve their purpose" they are sold off. And when they are worked, they are worked a ton. It's all competitions and winning. It's hard to see how these people actually have true genuine connections with their horses. Like how someone loves a cat or dog. It's like the idea of just owning horses for the fun of it is foreign. I donno... just an observation.

Did you know that 44 horses died last season on the racetracks? 25 died this year so far. I've always loved to watch horse racing and I had no idea that the horses were dying! This makes me so incredibly sad. :(
I don't believe in horse racing. They are babies. The knees don't even close until they are three, and they are trained as yearlings and raced at two. Does anyone remember Go For Wand in 1990?
When I trained, I wouldn't even sit on a horse until they were three.
Personally, I believe racing a horse under the age of five is cruel and abusive.

Did the er do any blood work? Check for MRSA? There are so many ways to
contract an infection. Glad it is healed!
They didn't test for anything.

PETA is just awful.

I just got almost a foot of hair cut off. I want to donate it, but not to locks of life because they charge a lot for their wigs. Wasn't there a children's charity that gave them to cancer kids?

Horse and dog racing is cruel and abusive and totally unnecessary. There is no need for humans to treat animals like that.
It won't stop until it's no longer profitable. People need to stop supporting those places. The Kentucky Derby is still a celebrity "must be seen at" event. It's unfortunate. They don't stop to think about how the animals are treated.
