One of my little girls (Blackie) is fascinated watching me take a shower. The outer shower curtain is opaque, but the inner curtain is clear. She gets in between the curtains with her front paws up on the bathtub and watches. There is a puzzled look on her face, like she is trying to figure out why the heck I would want to get all wet. She enjoys staring at the soapy water puddles swirling around on the bathtub floor... it's hilarious! Would probably get million views in a month if I made a video if it and put it on You Tube.

Anyone else here have a cat that likes watching you take a shower?

Hi! Too funny! Gracie (RIP) used to jump up on the toilet tank top next to the shower stall and wait for whoever was in the shower to open the shower door and let her lick drops of water from our hands. Don't even know how it got started, but it went on for all of her life. She could be across the house and hear the shower turn on and would come running for her shower drips.

Feeby, up until her arthritis started getting the better of her, would also come to the bathroom and jump up on the toilet tank, but we have never been able to get her to understand the 'shower drip process' that Gracie so dearly loved. Feeby, instead, just considers that it's time to also take a bath, so she cleans herself while sitting there until whoever is in the shower is done - then, she is done too!

Many years ago, I had a rather large tomcat who took baths with me. You have not lived until you've tried to relax in a hot bath with 12 pounds of wet tomcat on your chest, tail idly flicking bathwater everywhere.

Mooshoo is always right there whether it's a shower or a bubble bath. Once (only once) she fell in the bathtub trying to play with the bubbles.

My cat Jackie used to meow his head off while I took a shower. Now he sits calmly on top of the storage drawers I have next to the shower (OK I moved it there for him to use instead of pacing right outside the curtain.) He likes to peek in and make sure I’m still not dying from the shower :flail: so every once in a while through my shower I peek my head out and say hi to him. Plus (in the handicapped shower stall) the end 1/5 shower curtain is left open so he can see me (I have clear and fabric shower curtain.) When I first moved here he used to peek his head in or try to join me in the shower until he got wet while screaming his head off!

I miss when his litter boxes were not in the bathroom and I could shower alone ;) nothing like trying to shave quickly as you are reassuring your kitten you ok and not dying from the evil shower monster! :runaround::rolleyes::catlove:

Any time I head for the bathroom for any reason, my cat joins me. She's definitely a bathroom monitor. She has her own perch on a shelf in the bathroom that she cat loafs on while I shower. She used to go between the inner and outer shower curtains while I showered, but not as much as she used to. Still, it's pretty funny when she does it:

My cats are more fascinated with the water then me in the tub. They will put their paws in it and try to grab toes. But they all are very leary about getting too close. Mollie always comes running when I bathe, she assures herself that I am alright and then leaves. Dutch plays in the water a bit, he even lifts bubbles up with his paw and tries to taste them, but the minute I move he runs, I think he thinks I'm going to pull him in!

Geoffrey is very attentive when I sit on the “pot”. Has to supervise.

When he sees me grabbing for the toilet paper; he leaves.

Sometimes he waits for me between the shower curtain and the liner.

When I adopted him, he was always in the bathtub. I think he was “hidden “ in there.

Artie used to always hide in between the shower curtain and liner. We would play hide and seek— him hiding in there.

Neither one of them care for a shower or water. Artie used to drink out of the toilet bowl.

Haha ..yes...my Spencer who is 8 months old does the exact same thing ..he sits between the shower curtain and liner on the bathtub rim while I shower (if I don’t close the door ) ...if I take a bath he walks around the ledge...too funny.

I absolutely love these stories!

I don't have a cat who likes showers but Floey RIP used to always come in and sleep on the closed toilet cove . We put one of those carpet things on the lid because she tried to get on the lid one time and slid off...she was young too. So now she's been gone for almost 3 years we never removed the carpet cover. She would lay there and sleep or give herself a bath while Jon or I showered. She put up with being bathed too. She didn't like it but I had a method and it had to be done in 10 minutes...that was her comfort zone...10 minutes then all hell would break loose.

Every cat I've ever had always comes in to investigate while we use the pot. They like winding through our legs and get a pet then off they go.

LMAO both of my cats loves the bathroom- I think they think it's a petting station, as they have my full attention when I am most vulnerable. Simon loves to hang out in the sink and ask for kisses, but he's particularly insistent when I'm in the shower. I have glass doors, so he ends up scratching at the door to get my attention. I have to keep it cracked so he can stick his face in for kisses, but he still stands on the handle to scratch the door. I have a video, not sure if I can post it lol.

I enjoyed reading all these stories.

Kate follows me into the bathroom and as soon as I sit on the toilet comes up and meows because she wants me to get her brush, which is kept near the toilet, and brush her while I have a few minutes.

Jamie used to sit on the side of the tub and swat the water. If I made it splash a little bit he really like it.....until one day he fell in and completely freaked. Never has been in that bathroom since.

Zoe (RIP) trained herself to use the toilet and got very upset if the seat was down.
