I'm in line to pick up my groceries and its busy! I guess no one wanted to on Mother's Day. Normally I'm the only one here!

What is the oldest thing you own? (Please don't say your spouse! :p:nono::lol2:)

I think my oldest posession is a necklace that belonged to my Grandma. Or possibly a wooden level that was my Grandpas.

Either my house or a diamond cocktail ring from my grandmother. The house is 94 (built in 1925) but the ring, is either Art Deco or Edwardian; I'm not sure which style to pinpoint it at exactly so that might make it older by several years or more.

My great-aunt's musical jewelry box. I remember as a kid turning the little crank to hear the tinkly music.

The next oldest thing I own is my teddy bear. Yes, I still have my childhood teddy bear :paperbag: It was originally my older brother's bear.

I have a few things from my great grandfather that he brought from Germany. Also a Greek mythology book that was being written as it happened. lol. I think the publishing is actually somewhere in the 1800's. And a first copy of Kidnapped that my grand aunt gave me. Also published in the 1800's (?).

I have my great grandmothers pearls, I think they would be the oldest thing, but I have so many heirlooms from so many family members who have passed as well as old furniture and glassware that I honestly don't know.

One should NEVER toss a teddy bear!! :agree: Mine went missing from my Grandparents when I was a teenager and I'm still sad about Louie Bear. :sniffle: I thought for sure we would find him when my Grandparents house was sold a few years ago but he wasn't there. :sigh:

My kids play with DHs bear when we visit the in-laws. Hes a homemade Winnie the Pooh that MIL made because they couldn't afford much. He was re-stuffed at least once.

I still have my teddy bear, too! My mom bought it used for my first birthday, so it's over 60 years old.

I also have an amethyst ring that belonged to my great-great grandmother.

Probably the oldest thing I have are baby pics. I prefer new things to old, so I don't really keep much from the past.

The oldest thing I have is some pieces of fossilized coral and a chunk of fossilized sponge( I think its sponge)......Not sure how old it would be though. It's kind of mind blowing to think that Wisconsin had coral reefs millions of years ago.

Does petrified wood count? I have a 20 gallon bucket of it (pieces) somewhere outside.
I didn't think of it at first because up here it's as common as sand to the Sahara.
