My sister and her hubby are here visiting. They came in for a wedding this weekend. I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with them.

We had a line of severe storms go thru in the wee hours...makes me so nervous!Some of them west of us were tornado warned...that got me out of bed,dressed,hubby woke up....and it was so strange!One minute there was nothing going on here, then there was and poof!Gone by us as quick as it came.I am so relieved they more or less fell apart by the time they reached us.Then I felt so silly for waking him up.Thank you Lord for another day!

I've been having such a nice time with my sister and her DH since they've been in town visiting. The time flies by and although I will miss them when they leave I will cherish the heartwarming talks we've had and reminiscing together. 
The ducks are back! There is a pair of mallards that have shown up in my back yard every year for many years. The love to sun on my neighbors roof and rest under my hedges. Yesterday the male showed up but no sign of the female. Since they have to be nearing the end of their life span I was sad not to see her. But just a few minutes ago they waddled together on through the yard in search of the corn I leave out for them. They usually stay for a few weeks and then move on to wherever they spend their summers.
Last week I posted that I saw the first ducklings of the season. Yesterday I walked along the river, and they were all over! We're enjoying absolutely fabulous weather. Tomorrow is supposed to be the warmest Easter in 30 years. Mowgli is already spending nights on his balcony catio.
This is late but I've been in shock ever since. On Thursday, I went to a shelter to inquire about adopting a dog. I didn't think much of it. I read a few profiles the night before and decided to ask for a maltese I saw.
We met and he was barking and running around. They said he was energetic but I saw a dog that was scared and confused. So, with that, I adopted him and named him Mordecai. His temperment at home is so much different from at the shelter. He's polite, calm, affectionate, he doesn't bark or run around. He sleeps in his dog bed the whole night. Walks well on a leash. He makes lots of eye contact and follows my lead. He's a really good dog all around and I'm so glad I took him in!

With so much poo and negativity going around in the world, its nice to see a "beautiful day / positive" post.. especially one that's still going.

Thank you for rescuing Mordecai from the shelter. You chose wisely - he's a handsome bundle of white, fluffy fur who has found his forever home. Please keep us updated on his charming personality too. It's a glorious day here and we finally got a weekend with nice weather. It's a welcome change from the unexpected snow we had last Sunday. Speaking of Sunday, my sister and her DH will be leaving but I thoroughly enjoyed the time we had together, (reminds me of the lyrics from the Carol Burnett show, lol).

I loved the Carol Burnett Show....when I think of some of those skits I laugh so hard. What an amazing comedienne.

I made (with my mom, because she has the mold) and decorated my first lamb cake to have with the in-laws!
Okay, I'm not great at decorating, but I did try. And I'm sure it'll be yummy.

Uh...well, I bought cream cheese icing for the lamb and vanilla with sprinkles for the cupcakes (made out of extra cake mix), but I didn't have enough cream cheese icing for the whole lamb, so he's got some vanilla on him, too. At least they're the same color.

Mordecai is adorable!
Our great niece Amelie was born yesterday evening - 9 lbs., 20.8 inches. She was 11 days overdue.

A new pair of birds in the backyard - a pair of Northern Flickers! Had to look them up online to figure out what they are.
