Has anyone here ever fostered dogs or cats before? If you did, what was it like?
I've done orphan kittens many times. It's rewarding, but you don't get much sleep for 6-8 weeks.

Speaking of which, Onsa caught her first mouse last night. One managed to make it into the house and she was on it like a cheetah. She didn't even leave a mark on it, just walked around and carried it in her mouth until I could get it in a container and release it outside. Without a mama to teach her to hunt, I'm surprised she was that good.

I have a suggestion for how you can hold and protect small pieces when spraying them. Take a piece of wide blue painter's tape and poke the stud through from the sticky side, then stick the tape to a piece of cardboard, leaving just the post exposed. When the coating is well dried, tear the tape to release the post without scraping it off in the process.
That's kinda genius, and has been copied and pasted into my Household Tips Notebook. THANKS!

segelkatt segelkatt , don't read much into the son's reaction. It's very human (but very wrong) to tend to make judgements based on personal experience, and the son's experience is with his dad, who probably should NOT undertake a trip like that alone, or with someone in the same physical condition. The son knows HIS dad, and automatically assumes (and we know about "assume") that you must be like his dad. He's dead wrong, but... I hear constantly that I can't be my age, because I'm so open-minded, and so interested in learning and doing new things. I shrug, feel sorry that the older folks in those people's lives are so narrow, and go on about my business.

Ooh! What a fantastic idea! Thank you; I'll definitely be trying that.

The tornado siren just went off with that eerie mechanical voice saying over and over again, "There is a tornado warming for your area." Now I'm all shook up.
:bawling2::(:eek::help:
I hope you immediately took cover.

Once, I heard a guy say that if you want a long and healthy life, then choose your ancestors wisely.
:yeah:

Regarding "choosing" your ancestors, did you hear about the guy who is actually suing his parents for conceiving and giving birth to him without his permission?!!!! {Oh, the horror!} One of the parents said that they admire his audacity, considering that they're both lawyers. :flail:

Do you remember the scene in Everybody Loves Raymond where she collapsed and had to be helped up the stairs by her husband when she found out that Amy wasn't a virgin? I almost collapsed laughing! She will be missed.

I remember that scene. I like the scene where Ray's brother caught her smoking. She was wonderful in both shows. I will really miss her.

If you have a car, and some time, and a big heart, you can do a LOT of good here!

Do You Live In Tx, La, Ms, Al, Tn, Ky Or Oh?
There are a LOT of us...surely we can come up with a few more drivers? Let's get these kitties HOME! I have huge amounts of faith in what TCS members can get accomplished, you know.

I baked a walnut cake yesterday for the first time. I'm happy to report that it was GOOD! Not too sweet at all, more like a nut bread, but the maple glaze was to die for! Next month, I'll do the same thing, but with pecans and a caramel glaze!

SOME ABSURD GOOD NEWS...

Was just reading on The Daily Kos, and a woman had written a diary about her experience with Chewy when her beloved cat died. She was autoshipping for his special diet, and had just received her order, two bags and two cases, unopened, and wondered if she could return it, and stop further shipments. Her account was IMMEDIATELY credited, she was told to donate the food to a local shelter or rescue, and THE VERY NEXT DAY, a vase of tulips was delivered from Chewy with a condolence card!

I rare read ALL of the comments on Kos, but this time I did, and saw that a woman in Canada had called Chewy, asking if they deliver there. They told her no, but to keep watching the site, as they expect to be delivering to Canada very shortly, SO, Canadian members, looks like Chewy will be available to you all soon!
