Hi,
I saw this cute do it yourself idea.
I want to put my cat fur I get from grooming her into a small sock. She carries around empty socks when I am away. It's cute. I am trying to keep her entertained, sometimes I am gone 13 hours at a time.
It would be like her kitten right? Would this trigger negative behaviors?

Go for it - and maybe even add some cat nip too?? Can't imagine why it would trigger negative behavior - especially since she already carries empty socks around. Just be prepared for those socks to be unwearable ever again!!

I would fill it at least half full of catnip. She may like that scent better than her own fur alone and cats can be funny about their own hair. I have had several, including my current who will stop using a cat bed if it gets too fur covered.

Luna does that also. She looks at the cover, and looks at me. And meows. As to say clean it! This off the subject. Have you ever seen your can wiping her butt on the carpet? She does this on the non carpet surface also. Could I get her to lick her butt instead? If so how?

Well because, I think it might cause feelings of grief from being separated from her kitten a year ago. that might be me thinking too much. i'm not sure. Oh, does anyone know why she meows at sundown? As if to announce it's dark or bedtime? Or to talk to other cats outside?

A cat doesn’t normally drag their butt unless they have some sort of irritation or worms. You should have her checked by your vet and be sure to bring a fresh poop sample with you.

Just as long as your don't start saving the hair more generally, and making little dolls of family members & clothing from it.

nahh.. I'm not crafty like that. and that is creepy. I might nix the whole idea, and put the hair on a close pin outside for the birds to make their nests with. Never mind.

Could also be anal gland issues, even perhaps a UTI. Feeby has done this in both cases.

There are those infrequent occasions where a cat just doesn't get all the poop out in the litter box, and then kindly uses the floor, generally right outside the litter box, to 'finish the job'. If it is not happening routinely, just keep an eye on whether the frequency of it happening picks up.

yeah, she has drug her butt across the carpet during constipation. I see her place her butt lightly on the carpet and rotate as if to wipe it.
