:) Although...there’s also a timer on the microwave and one on his smartphone...
Well...um...we can try this...glue a small piece of metal on the oven timer control. Glue a small magnet on the back of a mouse trap...set the control, set the mousetrap...

How's your insurance for ER visits?

The meatloaf I made yesterday has three pounds of meat in it (!), so a good portion of it is definitely destined for the freezer and future meals.
I make up 5 pounds of meatloaf mix at a time, cook them in large muffin tins (they bake in no time flat), then wrap the individual servings in cling wrap and freeze. Each meatloaf muffin is about one serving. Maybe two muffins. Easy as pie!

Tonight, I'm having the ever-present hot dogs. I did take a portion of porkchops and dressing out a few minutes ago, but that will be for tomorrow.

That's what I do when I make my lentil loaf. And I try to find oversized muffin/cupcake papers so nothing sticks to the muffin tin, making cleanup a breeze.

Chorizo sausage broiled in the toaster oven, served with sauteed sliced carrots, celery, and onion. Thickened the broth I used to finish off the vegetables with corn starch. And Carolina basmati rice. Which, it turns out, originated in Pakistan.

No dinner tonight because we ate out at lunch. I'm avoiding dishes until forever the plumber comes to unclog the pipe that runs into the wall under the kitchen sink. I had smoked tri-tip with blue cheese on a toasted house-made ciabatta roll with a side Caesar salad. Tasty!

Plumber ETA tomorrow afternoon

I haven't been on this thread in weeks and damn am I starving :flail::flail::flail:

Mongolian chicken for us tonight. The cats will get chicken gizzards and a turkey mix of grinds, and the dogs will get their usual fart inducing favorite meal of beef heart, tripe, and leftover gizzards.

I'm reading Brotherhood in Death by J.D. Robb (aka Nora Roberts) and Eve told Roarke that she had been thinking about doing spaghetti and meatballs in their AutoChef. And I thought, "You know, spaghetti and meatballs sounds pretty darn good!" (ah, the power of suggestion).

Took some ground beef from the freezer to thaw, checked my stock of tomato paste and puree. Will make the meatballs while my semolina bread is proofing....because I'm throwing together a loaf of semolina bread this afternoon. I can make a couple slices of garlic-cheese bread from that loaf and toss the rest of it in the freezer. Then work on some pasta sauce. And throw together some Caesar salad. Not sure about dessert yet, but am thinking of a small pan of chocolate brownies.

I"m taking a bit of vacation time this afternoon and whenever I take vacation time, I always think that I should make something half-decent for dinner. And even if it's just spaghetti and meatballs with homemade bread and a salad, Rick will still appreciate it.

J. D. Robb is Nora Roberts ?!?!?!?! :eek2: Totally different theme of books, right? And, yes, I know this is more a discussion for All Thing Books And Reading Thread 2019

So to keep on topic, I think I'll take a serving of lasagna out of the freeze to thaw for tonight.
