I'm so grateful for the day I met Nando and decided to take her home, and needed somewhere to express it - and I'm sure a lot of you guys feel the same about your cats, so this thread is the place to do it! :cheerleader:

Since rescuing Nando, there have been times when I thought she was simply an aloof cat, and although she loved a little bit of attention she would prefer to spend the majority of her time alone. Recently, Nando has been running to the door when I come home, standing on her back legs when i bend down to kiss her so she can rub her cheeks all over my face, following me every where and purring non stop. I'm so happy that we have developed the bond we now have, which continues to grow every day; she truly is my best friend.
I always wonder about her previous life, and I hope she doesn't miss it, or her previous friends and family too much, and is happier here then she ever was there so that she never feels like anything is missing.

Nando is absolutely stunning. What a sweet idea for a thread. I am so grateful for my cats as well.

Chilli is the best first cat I could ever ask for. She’s funny, beautiful, easygoing, playful, and a wonderful companion. Recently she has become extremely affectionate and wakes me up meowing for cuddles every night—and of course I can never say no. :)

Clove has been a wonderful first kitten as well. She has her crazy moments, but is also incredibly sweet and has such a bright, active personality. And of course there’s nothing like a purring baby to cuddle with! Her lovely fun presence has brightened up my household considerably in these past few months.

And of course, Chai... was my heart kitty. She was truly special—magical, almost. The more time that passes without her, the more grateful I am that I got the chance to know her. She brought light and joy into my life and taught me so much about courage and love.

Oh, my babes. <3

My Emerson. Sassy little thing and perpetually adventurous. He always wants to be touched and snuggled. He makes little baby kneads as he trills and purrs in your arms. He is a mama's boy and sleeps beside my face every night. He gets so relaxed that, at times, he will drip a little. I love this big boy.

My Evie. My sweetness. She loves her daddy. He can't begin to sit down without her crawling in his lap. She loves to knead on blankets and hold a ball in her mouth. She plays mediator between brother Emerson and Dexter. An overall beautiful kitty with a great personality.

Dexter. Doodle boy. What a whirlwind these three months have been! He is ferociously independent and aloof, yet will always want snuggles and chin scratchies. His look of pure innocence (see fish tank photo) Is something to behold. He wants nothing more than to play constantly and he immediately changes the atmosphere in a room as soon as he saunters in. He has been the perfect addition to our little family and keeps everyone on our toes. I'm so glad he chose me that night in the parking deck.

Not counting all the various farm cats I grew up taking care of, the first family cat would have been Kallie but she was not mine but my wife's kitten.

She crossed the rainbow bridge two years ago.

My first cat would have been the kitten my son rescued and brought into the house and was named Shade. He bonded with me over a month or two and greets me at the door, will cuddle in my arms, and follow me to bed and snooze on or next to my legs. That's him chilling out on my computer desk.

The other kit we have is Noka and she was supposed to be my wife's cat but she choose to bond with our son instead. She will wander into his room when his door is open and snuggle with him during the night or she will snooze on his bed. She is more independent of the two cats but she is the youngest of them also.

Isn't it amazing how much joy and happiness our cats bring us? If anyone is ever having a bad day all they have to do is pet their cat and things are instantly better!

If I was to post appreciation for the cats who have graced my life, this entire site would be exclusively theirs :yess: so I won't do that, but I will just express my deepest gratitude and joy for each and every cat in my life, from conception (literally!) up to the present time. Cats have been my companions, best friends, breakfast, lunch and dinner companions, teachers, consolers, teammates, playmates, bedpartners, lap warmers...I could go on and on! Each one will always be beloved of me and precious to me. Kind, compassionate and intelligent people are wonderful as well, and I've always been intensely social, but for unconditionaly loyalty, love, and unparalleled beauty, style, and grace, no one comes close to cats. :lovecat::cutecat::kneading::lovecat3:

I am grateful for Olive.

I am grateful we picked this rental house instead of the others so we lived by her.

I am grateful that our neighbor left her behind so she could be in our family.

I am grateful that she jumped into my arms when we met so I knew how wonderful she was.

I’m grateful she let us make her an indoor kitty with minimal complaints.

I am grateful that she was not aggressive but spunky, so she didn’t attack our resident cats and yet kept pushing forward and refused to be kept out of the family rooms.

I am grateful she is addicted to cuddling but also delightful to play with.

I’m grateful she is so darn cute!

I have always been a dog person but when I met Bourbon she has changed my perspective. She is my spirit animal. I still remember the day I first saw her in the street, but could not take her in due to complications with a flatmate. But she kept coming back. She seemed to “know” me from all the people walking down that street, and each time I tell her, “come here”, she would run to me. Now we are inseparable, although she has this snobbish and grumpy attitude towards others.

Barley is the sweetest and kindest cat I have ever known in my lifetime. He seems to get along with everything and everyone. No issues. He also does not demand to be fed when he is hungry. He just sits there looking at me from a corner with all his mighty cuteness.

Pepsi is the one cat that gives joy to my children back home. He grew up with dogs and is also very tolerant.

Lastly, our newest addition Brandy - a velcro cat. She eats only when spoonfed, sleeps with my husband and likes to follow us around.

I was was so sad and lonely after losing my Stripe at the old age of 19. I had to put her down the day after Christmas. I was a mess until these two beautiful, hilarious, and super sweet angels entered my life. They turned everything around for me. Love my girls something fierce. Hello 2 cat house 2 cat house and beautiful girls, and welcome to TCS! How well we know the pain of having to part from beloved ones, and also, how opening our hearts and homes to other cats in need is never "replacing" but always healing and so deserved! We look forward to hearing more about your beauties and seeing more pix of them!

The day Baby Girl came home was not planned and we had no intentions of keeping her. We were dealing with several minor crisis situations at once and had no spare time to care for a sick, homely little mule cat, it was a Sunday and I planned to call the closest thing to a no kill shelter I knew of the next day. I "forgot" to call. After a few days, we silently agreed she wasn't going anywhere.
She was work for us to care for because she needed constant medicines, constant weighing, and was confined to a small kitten pen so the mess she made (litter, food, etc) was pretty big.
We were both under so much strain at the time trying to do 45 things at once taking care of her was work we didn't need, but once she got stronger I'd let her out of the pen a few times a day and play with her. For a month or so, the only time she was out of that pen was when one of us was actively playing with her or following her around (to keep her from getting hurt or the other cats from hurting her because she was still pretty tiny and kind of frail.) I think this constant engagement made her the little cat she is because she's very people oriented and follows us around like a love sick dog.
We didn't need her and didn't really want her (at first) but I'm so glad she's here. We saved her, and she saved us when we were working like machines and she reminded us to relax a little and laugh.

I'm grateful a little Lelia walked into a trap, and then didn't impress anyone at adoption events before I brought her home.

I love my girl. She's so clever, and curious, and playful. I love when she headbutts me to let me know it's playtime. I love that she'll snuggle on my legs at night even if she won't sit on my lap during the day.

She's gentle with me, never biting or scratching on purpose. She's a brat, bur she's also my girl and I love her.

Sparkle. The Farful. When I saw how my fiancé loves her I fell for him more. Unlike Lelia, she's not too smart (I'm amused at how she thinks scratching the lid of the litterbox will cover her poop), but she has a heart of gold. She makes the best expressions and makes me laugh.

Lelia pounced on Sparkle this morning. Lol, usually it's the other way around. They're not great friends and don't do cute things like groom each other, but I'm so glad they're able to tolerate each other, because neither of us would have given our cat up!
