So this is one of my foster cats we let my nephew give him the temporary name Sunshine (he was white with light orange stripes at the time.) We called him Sunny. However since I am officially adopting him, he needs a better name. So far my best ideas are Cyrus (calling him Rus for a nickname.) Cyrus means sun or throne in Persian. Or call him James (Jamie for a nick name.)

Cyrus just seems kinda serious for my very playful, hyper, very needy/attached to people cat. He will 4 months old on the 15th.

Any ideas?

When we first got them, before his markings darkened:

Oh forgot no God names ...,, my one failed adoption was a Greek god name. After that I vetoed them. Also no more wizard and magician names. I named a few cats after wizards in books but quickly ran out of names..... plus people kept thinking Dante was a devil name

I was thinking of Scandal when I think of Cyrus. It doesn't have to be a sun name. I named his brother Nick. (The kid named him Dark and called him Darkie .... we adults decided that name would not do, so he was renamed Nick.)

Aww, he's a gorgeous boy! I take it he doesn't actually recognize/respond to his current name? We had one bottle baby kitten that ended up named Kitten because she actually started to respond to Kitten while her name was being debated on, and refused to answer to anything else.

"So, X keeps calling her Cow Cat, but that totally isn't a name, and she really doesn't look like a Bessie, which is their other suggestion, and Y keeps suggesting Oreo, and no one can agree on what to call the kitten-" "Mew!" *blink, blink, stare at kitten* "Kitten?" "Mew!" "Bessie?" *blank stare and kitten looks away* "Oreo?" *no reaction* "Kitten?" "Mew!" *attentive look from kitten, purring* "....oh no." :flail:

For some reason his lovely colors make me think of winter, and you mentioned he's playful....how about Jack, after the playful and fun version of Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians?

I have been calling him Jack & Jackie .... I think maybe naming him after the martial artist might be apt. He is a jumper and climber .... and a bit of a dare devil. I love his mattix jumps ... he runs up the side of the couch and twists mid jump.

I have been calling him Jackie since he is crazy when playing. He loves to jump and climb. I need to get his matrix jumps on video.

He doesn't know his name or thinks it is anything ending in a e sound. However he knows the sound we make when it is dinner/treat time! ;)
