Any non prescription dry food for sensitive stomachs? A few of my cats throw up their dry food right after they eat. (Within 20 minutes)from time to time. One is going to be on prescription food. But tempted to try something else for the others. Currently feeding them simply nourish grain free Turkey and chicken. They get two feedings of wet. But still need some dry.

This is what they have been on for awhile. What causes them to throw it up right after eating?
Deboned Chicken, Chicken Meal, Turkey Meal, Dried Potatoes, Dried Peas, Canola Oil (Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols), Flaxseed Meal, Tomato Pomace, Deboned Turkey, Natural Flavor, Fish Meal, Dried Chicory Root, Dried Cranberries, Dried Carrots, Dried Sweet Potatoes, Vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate [Source of Ascorbic Acid], Vitamin A Supplement, Pantothenic Acid, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid, Biotin) Salt, Choline Chloride, Minerals (Zinc Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite), Taurine

What wet food are you feeding them? How much dry? Is it possible that your cats are throwing up because they are eating too much of the dry in one sitting?

My cat eats raw due to his GI issues but I do leave dry out 24/7 for grazing/nibbling.

He is doing absolutely fantastic on the Halo sensitive turkey and turkey liver (he can’t have fish or chicken).

Prior to the Halo, he did pretty good on the Purina One sensitive but then they had to go and change the ingredients so I had to go back to the drawing board, but so happy I found the Halo.

I understand that you have many cats to feed and are on a tight budget. Maybe you could rotate it in? It's significantly cheaper on chewy (see below).
If you sign up for their newsletter via their website, Dr. Elsey's is really good about giving out coupons. Or contact them directly for coupons and explain that you are a multicat household on a budget. They are a wonderful company and I can't see them flat out not offering anything.

If the cats are only getting two tablespoons of dry food each, I wonder if the cats are eating it very quickly and then regurgitating. One of our cats does this with certain canned foods she particularly likes.

The food does contain potato, which makes some cats (including that same one of ours!) barf but if the food comes back up almost immediately it's more likely from eating too fast. I even wonder if the shapes of certain foods can make cats vomit them more: the canned food that Edwina yurps up is a "minced" food so it's in small pieces that are easy for her to lap up without chewing much. The same goes for dry foods.

I know. But my guy is stable for the first time in months. The dry is a very small part of what he eats. If he eats 1/4c a day, that’s a lot.

I was super limited with the no fish or chicken. If you come across something else in your travels, available in Canada, please let me know lol...

My next option if the Halo was causing upset was the SD one. But it didn’t have any meat at all until the 4th ingredient.

What I have leaned after going through hell with my guy- feed whatever works and they can digest. The Purina EN gastro food saved my cats life when he was in bad shape. Once we got him stable, we started playing with foods until I figured out what worked.

You can try slow feeding bowls or puzzles to get them to eat slower, or raise their bowl up about 6 inches so they don't crouch to eat it.

Jasmine had a very sensitive tummy at the end. She was on Instinct LID rabbit and a mix of various Chicken, fish, and grain free foods but was doing awful with throwing up. As a last ditch effort I tried Friskies Pate with Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach (Lamb) and she went from throwing up daily to 2 to 3 times a month, tops. I am not sure why!

I don't think they are eating to fast. But what would be considered fast?

If they can eat 2 tbsp in under 5 minutes, that would be fast to me.

Wow $47 for a 6 pound bag. Sounds like good food. But never could afford that
Buy it from chewy its 32 right now. Also since its very high in protein your cat will eat less. The bag will last longer.

Not specifically, but the Dr. Elsey's has zero fillers. If I'm not mistaken, that's what a lot of sensitive stomach foods are. You could also feed the cats that are throwing up the more expensive brand and keep the non-pukers on what you were feeding to cut costs.
