The roomate and i were talking and i mentioned how Honeybunny doesnt meow much, she trills a lot and squeaks, but no meows.

The the roommate says "yes she does, i hear her meow a lot!"

Me: "But i never hear her meow..."

Roommate: "Not when youre here, when youre gone. She walks around to different rooms, looking for you and meowing".

MY HEARTTTT ❤ I feel bad now :(

Hi!
Can you try having some music on while you're gone? Maybe just in your room, try some low volume classical harp music or try the app Relax My Cat, or MusicForCats . com.
Start playing it while you're there, so she associates it with you. Hopefully then when you're gone she'll be calmer when she hears the music :)

Piper is pretty quiet, except when she can't find me. I am home most of the time, but if she either doesn't know where I am or can't get to me for some reason, she meows like that. She also does it when I'm gone. I think I've become her person. She follows me everywhere like my little furry shadow.

Thanks, thats a good idea, i think i'll try it :) i mean he didnt say she does it obsessively or anything, but the thought that she does it at all... i just dont want her sad or stressed.

Im going back home for xmas so i have to board her for a week and im dreading it. We're not really supposed to have a cat so i cant have a sitter.

Try and make sure you have a worn, unwashed t-shirt or socks so she has something that smells of you while you're gone :)

The only meow Buddy ever does is a little, soft half-hearted meow when he has got somewhere he shouldn't be and I pick him up. Or so I thought.
Recently we had gone to bed but I realized I had forgotten to do something. I left the bedroom shutting the door behind me. My partner said Buddy sat on the edge of the bed and let out a loud, plaintive cry and stared at the door until I returned. He then proceeded to curl up next to me as normal. He just wanted me and I have to admit, it made me feel really good. :):catrub:

There is a Petzi Treat Cam which you can set up at home and speak, watch your pet and dispense treats while you are gone. You can catch them in their most candid moments even when not at home. I think its fun. I am not sure, though, if you can be able to hear your pet, but if it does, you can catch your baby in case she "meows".

My Bourbon and Barley also very seldom meows. Even it they do, it does not really sound like a MEOW but more of a shortened "AW". LOL. They do chirp and thrill especially when excited to see birds or any strange objects outside the house.

Hawkeye does this, or so I'm told. The only times I ever hear an actual meow are when he's looking for me. Very occassionally if he's playing with one of his brothers too.
