It's super important that you weigh them daily. That's how you prevent losing kittens. If any are slipping and not gaining enough, you can begin to supplement them. Kittens can fade slowly because they can't keep up with their siblings and are being pushed away from nursing. You can intervene and help them, if you know who to look out for. You want to see at least 6-10g added per day.
Thanks Talking Peanut.... minimum gain last night was 8 Grams... I’m praying they all carry on gaining... below 8 grams would you supplement straight away? x x x

Yeah, Jade's appetite was never an issue, but she did have a touch of the runs for a few days, so upset tummy may indeed be a post birth thing.

I started handling pretty much right away, like day two. I would sit next to her box and pick up a baby, one at a time, and hold each one for only maybe a literal minute, and then put it back and do the same with the others. I live alone so it was only me handling them , when other people would come to visit she seemed antsier, although never aggressive, she would just stay very close and check out everything that was going on. As they got older, I increased the time. I wanted to make sure all parties were ok with the babies being held. I will say Jade was NOT a fan of loud fidgeting children, but i'm talking very small children and yours are all older, so that may not be an issue. Tiggy will let you know what's ok and what's not!
Thanks for that Ans....

I put a sign on the lounge door on Sunday evening when I thought the kits were imminent saying “Kittens in progress - anyone messing around will be removed” lol. To be fair to them all they have been extremely good. They each saw a kitten or two being born and sat quiet as mice. The complete awe and wonder in their eyes was amazing to see.... They didn’t even flinch when she was scoffing the placenta (although I did warn them about this and had everyone watch a couple of cats giving birth on you tube) but seeing it in real life is a completely different experience, especially when it’s their much loved Tigs. Evie (who I’m certain is a cat in human form and is Tigs favourite human) was stroking tigs saying “it’s okay tigs - you’re doing so well - that’s it tigs lick her face - lick her belly - well done” I was completely overcome with emotion with a big smile on my face, silent happy tears in my eyes.

Tigs appetite has picked up thank goodness.
She still keeps coming out for little rests, fuss and snuggles.... x. X x x

Hi all....

I noticed today that one of the babies has one eye open and the other a tiny bit open... I was expecting this until around 7 to 10 days ish...

Has anyone else experienced eyes opening this early?

I’m a bit worried about it as when they are scrapping for milk there’s a lot of feisty pawing at each other and she might get her eye scratched. I also wondered if that’s how it’s opened? By being pawed at? x x x

Aren't animals a wonderful way for children to learn about life and love and teaching care of someone? Yours sound super sweet :)
Thanks for all the pictures, I still can't get over how many there are! And I'm not sure about the eye thing, does it look painful? I would keep an eye on it (pun intended) and maybe call a NEW vet and ask if you should be concerned about this. That's the best I got!!

We haven’t got over there are 7 either! Last nights gains were between 15 and 22 grams! Tigs is doing an amazing job of growing her babies.... I am worrying constantly about them.
We have started a bit of handling the kittens... just sat right in front of Tigs - she is fine about it unless they are particularly meowy and then she meows for them back. Christmas is going to be crazy with these 7 kittens tootling around...
The eye doesn’t look sore at all but I’ll give a different vet a call when I get back from the school run...

Lol lots of spots... my nan had a dog called skip that would fart then run to the window barking trying to pretend it wasn’t him...
How is Mia and how are her babies??? I’d love to see a pic... x x x
They are doing ok. The smaller of the two (who I am calling snickerS) is pretty small and doesn't gain much weight so I am still worried about him. The bigger one (I call him big boy) is growing like crazy. He gains over 20g a day while Snickers gains around 8-12 a day. Sometimes even only 5g. :-(. I hope he is just a runt and will be small ratgra than him being sickly and maybe die.

How is your army of kittens doing?

Hi Lots of spots Lots of spots almost all of the babies have doubled their birthweight.... I think we have five boys and two girls. Tigs is being a great mama, she’s really laid back but yet really attentive.... She pops out of the box every so often for a lay on the cool floor as I think those seven little babies make her a bit too toasty....The kits were so sleepy at weigh in last night we had them fast asleep on their backs in the palm of our hands.... awwww their cute little tummy’s are just adorable.
The baby who had one eye open now has both open and a couple of others are starting to open now too....
We have had a couple of low gains one was 7g and the other 8g but the next weigh in they put 15g and 22g so I’m not worried at this point (although I do worry about them constantly) I have no idea how tigs is managing to grow all seven of them so well but I know it’s still early days... You can hardly see Tigs any more when they are fighting for the milk bar! We love them all so much I have no idea how we are going to re home any of them! Are you planning to re home your two babies? xxx
Talking Peanut told me to supplement if they only gain 6g two days in a row.
Is there a big difference in weight between Snickers and Big boy? I’d love to see what they look like now.... x x x

Glad to hear they are all doing wonderful! Big boy is Michael larger than sniSnick. By a little over 100g. I added a few pictures of them along with one of mama Mia and Diego hanging out in their new cat tree.

Hello you lovely lot,
I’m just catching up with everything after being hospitalised due to my epilepsy. But thats a whole other story....

So, The Kittens (aka Tiny Jedi) will be seven weeks old tomorrow! And how they have grown!
Tigs got really really fed up of them at four weeks old and I was so worried that they would go downhill as they had all been doing amazingly and gaining weight really well. Some would eat kitten mush, some wouldn’t.... We still have two (Blue and Lola) that refuse to eat kitten food.... we’ve been trying different brands but nope they are not interested, they will however eat cooked meats, (chicken, beef, pork,) I’ve been givIng them goats milk also. They will all still try to run after Tigs for some milk but she has none of it (not worried about this at all now, she did an amazing job with them all) She LOVES playing with them and it’s so funny and cute to watch.

Aside from the issue with Blue and Lola not eating Cat food they are all including (Toby, Inky, Bear, James and Teddy) thriving.

As my eyesight has only just got good enough again to use my phone (very high does of intravenous epilepsy medication to blame) I don’t have any recent pics so I will post this and go and take some pics for you all.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wishing you a happy new year... x x x x

Oh my goodness, so sorry to hear you were hospitalized, I hope you are feeling better! I'm glad to hear that the furry bunch are doing well, can't wait to see pictures! I'm glad you are back! A belated Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Just out of curiosity, are you all going to keep the whole lot of them?? I ask because once I name them I can't part with them
