There is a thread called,” Cats in Los Angeles need our help now” @tarasgirl06 . Please visit this if you care about helping kitties. As a rescuer I find it important. I spend my time saving kitties and I would like to think others are aware of the value of these little fur babies.

Yes, I signed and shared - plus signed several more that were cat related about shelters in NC/SC.
by the way....
May I share your photos of the storm? I believe it helps to get focus and attention when I am asking for prayers and vibes.

Still raining and windy. Have the kitties and carriers still prepared. Some kitties are calm, some are nervous but all are okay. BJ is still in his shelter. I just got a text from my friend who fosters. They , and the kitties are okay. She will be checking the shelter first thing tomorrow. I am hoping the worst is past. I won’t be checking for damage outside until daylight except for the area where BJ is staying.
Bonjure is ready to get into his carrier at a moment’s notice.

Banjo is tearing up a paper plate and very nervous. She decided a cage was a safe place to stay so I put her carrier beside her for quick loading if needed.
I think having the power go out scared her. The noises outside too. Most of the cats are staying very close to me tonight. I think they will calm down soon if things continue to improve. We are under a tornado watch until morning.

We've had a lot of typhoons this summer and I'm always amazed by how well the cats handle it. Being in the middle of a forest can be so noisy, especially when big trees start coming down. The cats just all snuggle up together and sleep through it. They all jolt awake if anything hits the roof, but then they look at me to see how I've reacted and go back to sleep again if I'm calm.

Hopefully this one will be over soon.

BJ and his shelter survived. He does not want to come out as it is still blowing. Should be over by this afternoon. Town just west of me damaged. Florida devastated and West Georgia hit hard. Much debris here. Lots of power outages. Many roads closed. Sheltering in place for now. All the good vibes, wishes and prayers must have helped us to stay safe. Thank you!

I have been sort of out of touch. Had to reserve power and signal strength was often down. This is what it looked like as it rolled into the port area.

The early stages here. The worst was late last night into early morning. Power is restored around here and I have gotten all kitty equipment scrubbed and tidied up. My friend in Florida did not fare as well. I send care and prayers to all.

BJ was still agiitated this evening. He took it out on me yesterday and again tonight but I did manage to calm him in the end. He only tried to eat a small bite of my thumb! Lol! I consider that a small price to pay to reclaim his confidence enough to come out of his shelter. It could have been far worse

We were all up the whole night so the cats have already gone to bed. I am soon to follow so I can continue the clean up tomorrow. I hope we hear good news from all others.

I'm glad to hear you're all OK. Take care of that bite, I'm sure you know how dangerous they can be.

I'm convinced cats think humans control the weather. We open and close the doors, turn the lights and heat on and off, open the cans and packets so of course we turn the rain and wind on or off too.

I always get a good telling off when it's raining too hard to go out and play.

I am getting two bars indicating much improved signal strength tonight. I have had a terrible time trying to post but the is typical when any storm comes near.

Good news today! Mr. BJ decided to forgive me for the storm. Norachan Norachan I did smile at your description of how kitties blame us for inclement conditions!
Fortunately for me, the sun was out today and BJ took a sunbath. He made me laugh the way he kept his eyes shaded by the leaves above him.

A very practical sun hat.

My thumb will recover. My doctor keeps me supplied with an antibiotic cream ever since he found out I was dealing with so many kitties. ( The physicians assistant there rescues kitties too do they are aware of the possibility of bites or scratches) Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 I will watch for any redness.
BJ was much more relaxed today and thanked me for the sunshine by letting me pet him more than I have been able to on previous occasions. It made my day. Thank you both for the consideration of my bite. I have often gotten scratches but a bite from a feral is rare. It is usually me own cats who have bitten me! Perhaps I am just more careful around the ferals.

More good news for M maggiedemi Iris got adopted today! Just two more flower babies to go! I have some really cute pictures that I am saving for that day!

I am including a photo to honor someone today. This statue belonged to my daughter. It reminds me of her and the feral kittens she helped to nurture. She attracted kitties like a magnet. My old girl Smokey was her lap baby from the moment I brought her inside as an orphaned kitten. Every feral I brought in went straight to Sarah. She had a way with every creature of feathers or fur. She wasn’t taught how to handle ferals, she was just one of those people they seemed to instictively trust. The little statue makes me smile. I hope you do too.

Happy Birthday Sarah.

You must have been a very special person, just like your mum.

:bouquet::bouquet::bouquet::bouquet::bouquet:

BJ is so smart. Knows who he can come to for food and love, knows where to hide in a storm, knows how to make a sun hat out of leaves.

That's great news about little Iris. I hope she'll be very happy in her forever home.
