Good Morning!! :wave3:

**slightly early edition**

it's been a very busy week here! i'm in the process of 'putting up' apples, and just yesterday put up 8 quarts of yellow plums -- i made freezer jam with them, got 36 pints of jam.

with these thoughts on my mind, for today's Question of the Day......

When was the last time you stayed up too late? and, What kept you up that late?

i'll start!

that would be friday night/saturday morning, for me. i was making batches of yellow plum freezer jam, and was up until after 4 am. i prefer to get things completed, and will 'push myself' to reach a certain point.

How about you?

Last Saturday/Sunday. I was babysitting and the parent didn't get back until almost 3AM plus the time it took me to get home I was up past 3:30. Way too late for me.

"Too late" is relative. Mowgli wakes me up before 5 a.m., so any time after 10 p.m. is "staying up late" for me. I didn't get to bed till 10:30 last Tuesday and paid for it on Wednesday.

I have C-PTSD related sleep issues and my husband works late, so we typically go to bed between 4 am and 6 am. Staying up "late" for me mean not taking my nighttime medications because I have something to do very early the next day. For example, this coming Friday, our Silas is getting neutered and drop-off is 8:30. It is about 15/20 minutes away, so I will probably be going to bed around 10. The last time I stayed up late was a couple of months ago. My husband and I started a game of War of the Ring a bit late in the evening. It can take a few hours to play. It was 8, I think. (Sauron's armies crushed the Fellowship that night in a spectacular battle! I always control Sauron's armies!)

Less than a week ago I stayed up to watch the Cubs vs Brewers tie breaker wild card game that went into 13 innings. I'm not normally a night owl. :sleep2:

micknsnicks2mom micknsnicks2mom 4 a.m.! :eek2: There's no way I could do that.

:yeah: Same here. I have kitties walking on my face between 4:30 - 5 a.m. in the mornings. I'm in the middle of a fascinating book and on Friday I stayed awake reading until 10:30 p.m. That's late for me. I'd have liked to read longer, but knew I'd pay the price the next day if I stayed up any later.

Um last night. I was reading. One of my favorite authors released a new book this week and I read it so fast the first time that I wanted to re-read it to be sure I got all the details. I only dozed for a little while after that before i was up again for a few hours. So I'm paying for it now.

Probably here on The Cat Site. I like to be in bed by 10pm, but sometimes I get talking on here and miss my bedtime. :)

I stay up too late nearly every day because of insomnia, but the last time where I stayed up because of something not related to insomnia was a few weeks ago. I was cross stitching and didn't want to stop.

Just about every night for the past 9 months. I get engrossed in online genealogy. I also do it on my lunch hour at work--and it seems that I find something exciting literally five minutes before I have to clock back in to work!

A week ago Saturday, my daughter (age 17) was working to close at her job. The restaurant closes at 11pm, and we live about 5 minutes driving time away. I was so worried because she wasn't home by 12:30. Apparently, a combination of being very busy and a closing manager who doesn't try to get done quickly made that happen. Her twin brother works at a different fast food place which closes at 10, and he's never been later than 10:45.

I often go to bed at around 12am however the latest time I stayed up was when I went away to Provence in France in June and had to catch a 5am flight. I was still packing late so didn't get the little sleep I did until 3am.

you stayed up too late last Saturday/Sunday, babysitting, until past 3:30 am by the time you got to sleep!!! oh my!! :D

when i stay up too late, it always messes up the next day for me. i get up very late in the morning, or early afternoon, and then have a short time to get some things done before going to bed at a more reasonable time. :headshake:

you stayed up until 10:30 pm last Tuesday, and 'paid for it' on Wednesday morning when your Mowgli woke you up at (his normal) 5 am!!! very nice!! :)

even as little as half an hour less sleep can make a difference for me too! :agree:

Thanks! At least it is less invasive than when our girls were spayed! I still am rather worried about him. I hate to see him in pain. :(

I am trying to talk him into playing War of the Rings tonight! It has been a while and Saruman's armies are looking for a fight!
