Now that we have two cats, I’d like to continue to feed all wet but need cheaper options I think. Right now Kaia loves Weruva, Instinct, Wellness kitten, Halo.....I’ve fed her all good food so far. However they are expensive, and while that’s ok to a point...I think we might need a cheaper option. What is a cheaper but still good wet food?
Thanks!
Also, at this point Binx isn’t even eating....so I don’t know if he’d even be fine with an all wet diet!

Not sure your exaxt price points, but Dave's Pet Food, Life's Abundance (samples and cases at lifesabundance.com), Hound and Gatos and Dr Elsey's are fairly affordable. I feed those to Olive.

I feed Friskies or Fancy Feast pate because my budget is SUPER tight. They are low carb and she does great on them.
If you can go more expensive than that but not Weruva kind of price... Merrick, Dave's, Whole Earth Farms and ProPlan True Nature are all "middle of the road".

I’m in Canada....so I can’t get Dr Elseys, we don’t have Dave’s, or hound and gatos....and I’m not sure life’s abundance ships to Canada.
We do have Merrick, whole earth farms and pro plan.....
I’ve given her Nutro, Natural Balance and Blue Wilderness kitten and she liked them all.
I did look at Friskies today....
The fancy feast we have just says Pate, or grilled etc....there isn’t one that says Classics.

Are there Petco stores in Canada? Soulistic is the lesser expensive version of Weruva and made by the same company.

Try this thread for other brands: Buying Cat Food In Canada
No Petco....just PetSmart.....but it’s Pet Valu and global pet foods that carry the most holistic brands.

Pet Valu has a brand called Performatrin that I have looked at before. It's very affordable (half the cost of NVI), grain free, and ingredients look pretty good. Here's the link: Cat Food - Cat
I gave it a pass because most of it contains chicken, which my guy can't eat. It looks like a good option for cats that can eat chicken though.

Performatrin Ultra is what we used to feed our previous cat and he did great on it. Kaia loves the chicken stew.....I think I might buy a bag of the dry for overnight to switch to from Wellness. Neither of them like the wellness kitten dry food.

Can you get Chewy in Canada? Or Amazon? I am assuming yes to the second one.

I used to get Aslan's FF Variety Packs from Amazon and he did well on them. I still feed them but I also feed the big cans of Weruva and Nutro now.

We can't get Chewy, but we have petonly.ca which is sort of similar....but you have to buy cases. I've never ordered from them because I'm not ready to order a full case of something yet.
We do have amazon.ca but we don't get half of what you guys can get in the States....and often times the prices are super weird and high...you have to be really careful.

Do you live near a Costco? You’d need a membership—or a friend with a membership—but they carry a Kirkland brand called Nature’s Domain. The canned is a good quality (but not the dry) and priced here in the U.S. the same as Friskies. You do have to buy a case, but if your cats don’t like it, Costco should take it back. I buy it for the cats at the place where I volunteer because they were feeding Friskies which was causing issues for a couple of the cats.

Nature’s Domain Chicken and Chicken Liver:

Ingredients

Organic chicken, organic chicken broth, organic chicken liver, natural flavor, tricalcium phosphate, organic pea flour, calcium carbonate, agar-agar, organic dandelion greens, organic alfalfa, organic parsley, choline chloride, sea salt, potassium chloride, taurine, organic cranberries, magnesium proteinate, zinc proteinate, manganese proteinate, copper proteinate, sodium selenite, calcium iodate, thiamine mononitrate, niacin supplement, vitamin E supplement, calcium pantothenate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin supplement, biotin, vitamin A supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, vitamin D2 supplement, folic acid

Dry Matter Analysis
The manufacturer's published guaranteed analysis values normalized for moisture content.

Protein: (min) 45%
Fat: (min) 34%
Fiber: (max) 2%
Carbs: (est) 11%
Ash: (est) 7%

I'm not sure if it's available to you (hopefully it is!) but Whole Earth Farms is an affordable wet food, in my opinion. My two cats really enjoy the duck flavor. Against the Grain is another option, all of the chicken options are a hit here.

We do have a Costco membership! I think I will buy a case and if they don’t like it, I will donate it to the shelter.

Pretty sure I saw that in Pet Valu today. Will look next time!

The most affordable for me is Crave wet food. It's the better choice from the rest of the commercial brands at the supermarket, Target, and Walmart. High meat protein and a little less of the bad stuff in it.

It's quite comical to see the ingredients in some of the cat food out there. I see broccoli, strawberries, kiwi, potatoes, grapes, raspberries, pineapple, carrots, apples, bananas, rice, garlic, peas, sugar, salt, yeast etc.... The food comes in appealing colorful packaging, with the word Holistic/Organic and/or grain free stamped on the bag. Aren't cats obligate carnivores? I see there is no regulations in pet food regardless of what they say.

In Canada, the classics are labelled as pates, so you're safe with the Chicken Feast, Beef Feast Turkey and Giblets Feast and Chicken and Giblets Feast. Amazon sells a variety pack of 12 for 8$, and 7$ if you subscribe.
