We haven't posted but on one thread since joining. Sorry. We have been really occupied with taking care of our new kittens. We did not adopt the 2 we wanted from our first post, only one. The other had a severe case of ringworm and we were sort of in a rush to get a set before school started.
We adopted Porter, the black & grey kitten. Then we adopted another from the same rescue but a different litter.

Porter had a severe reaction/infection from when he was neutered. He was neutered the day before we got him. He has had this darn Ecollar on for 2 weeks now. He has had several abscesses and has had a rough go since. He developed two cysts like bumps under his skin as well in the same area. He has been a trooper thru it all. Now he is favoring his left leg and in pain after using the bathroom to do his #2 duty. It only bothers him after this, mostly.

We could use some prayers and healing thoughts from our fellow kitty tribe as he is going
into surgery in the am. They think it maybe part of the infection or maybe a hernia. Not sure at all really.

Im struggling with all of this as now the kids are back at school. Also I have one kitten who is so desperate to play with him and I have to keep Porter away so he can heal.

This has been draining on our cash flow as well.

Thanks for reading my babbling!!

I hope all this trama/drama doesn’t change him.
Over 3 weeks in a cone and locked up.... I’d be pissed!
Cats are amazingly forgiving people; I don't think you should worry about it. You're thinking in human terms, not cat terms; they all (at least the ones who are fortunate enough to be adopted and loved) encounter the cone of shame sooner or later, and the only thing it changes for them is that they recover faster from surgery.

He had the exploratory surgery and found no abscess or hernia. Those were the only things they could think would cause all his problems.
They found that a ton of lymph nodes were really huge. They took samples to have a biopsy done.
We are waiting to hear if it’s just a really bad infection from possibly his neuter job, or cancer.
Thanks so much for asking. I appreciate your prayers and good vibes.

We are hopeful that it’s an infection that we can nurse him through.

Porter does not have cancer!!!! We are so grateful. He is still recovering from surgery and limping on his left leg. We hope he is just being cautious and taking it easy.
Thanks to all who thought and prayed for him.

That is fantastic news about Porter! Did they give him an antibiotic to clear up the infection?

Oh, that's wonderful news!!
Sending lots of pain free thoughts....
By the way, i don't recall if I mentioned, but would massaging that leg help, or even just holding it in your hands? Your touch and the warmth will help it feel better, :)

He has been in antibiotics since August 17!!!!
We have been touching his leg to make sure it wasn’t hurt.... we will try massaging it to see if it helps!! Thanks
