when she comes in bed in the morning and I am petting her back, she will do this little "flop" thing and fall to her side, and as she falls she will rabbit kick my hand to her stomach then hold it there with her leg and start purring.
Wow I could have written this myself! My NFC girl Chilli does EXACTLY this. I find “the flop” so endearing.

Here’s after she fell asleep while I rubbed her belly.

Oh sure make me jealous! I started rubbing Dante's/thepunk's belly when I get annoyed with him hunting his brother..... than I play with him.

Belly rubs are a death sentence. I'm allowed to look at the magic fluffy kitty belly but I am forbidden from touching it. I'm only allowed to pet her back and head, very rarely her sides.

My two love belly rubs, though Toffee will tell me when he's had enough by grabbing onto my hands and trying to bite them! When they both lay on their backs or on their sides, it usually means they want their tummy to be rubbed.

I went searching for cats who love belly rubs because I keep hearing from cat behaviorists that you should never pet a cat's belly and I am relieved to know I'm not alone.

Castiel LOVES them and always lays on his back, digs his claws into my arm, meows and begs for them.

He is laying like this at least 50% of the time.

Only Raja. Walk into a room and she will roll onto the floor, lift up her front paws and lay there until you rub the belly. She isn't picky about who does the rubbing either...she'll tempt anyone with it!

Darn this newish PC with no old pictures as I have a really cute photo of Allergy Cat on her back, rear legs stretched straight, front paws held in a circular position and head up staring at me with a look kind of above "pet my belly or die" and beneath "please?" and somewhere in the realm of "I'm riding an invisible motorcycle. Doesn't that make you want to pet my belly?"

Oh man, Mika LOOOOVES belly rubs. She does a really adorable flop too but she tucks her head like she's rubbing her head on whatever surface is under her to flip her belly up. She won't lay on her back but she'll expose most of it to the side.

We loves the bellies over here.

(The picture is from when she was very sick and just got home from the hospital, so yes, I know she's incredibly jaundiced. We haven't taken any new belly pics since then.)

My new ginger kitty is probably 1.5 years old. he loves belly rubs and licks my hand and arm while i go at it. he nibbles sometimes.
Im thinking that hes showing the same love he recalls his mother giving him. So, he just loves me to death lol.

Haha yep! Love Rick and Morty! Rick (the grey one) also has the biggest personality. A real sweetheart who warms up to new kittens in the snap of your fingers. He's been a great mentor to the foster kittens we've rehomed.
your Morty looks like a twin to my Simon!

I am just curious if this is normal or different behavior for a cat? My cat is a 1 year old siberian and has absolutely loved belly rubs ever since about 6 months old. In fact, when she comes in bed in the morning and I am petting her back, she will do this little "flop" thing and fall to her side, and as she falls she will rabbit kick my hand to her stomach then hold it there with her leg and start purring. She will lay like that for however long I will pet her stomach, and will often fall asleep if I do it long enough. When I'm doing it, she will usually lay perpendicular to my chest with her paws pressed against me. If I move, or leave, and she feels her paws leave my chest, she usually gets up and leaves too.

Do any of your cats love belly rubs this much?
No, my kitten will attack my hand if I go for the belly unless he’s extremely sleepy.

But who could resist his furry white belly?
