The counter offer is being reviewed today. I should hear back at some point today because the original offer has a sign and submit date of today for employment:eek: I didn't ask for much, just a slightly higher salary and earlier work hours. The work hours should be doable and doesn't cost the company anything.

So I'm in job limbo right now:eek: Yesterday was my last day with the :censored: job. No one seemed to notice or care. The supervisor gave me more BS about how she had no animosity towards me and wishes me well crap :angrywoman: Outside the team, only 2 people in the entire department (of over 100 people) wished me well :disappointed: And I've been with the company / department for 13 years. No team send off or party either. Not even a card. It was disappointing but given the circumstances my leaving wasn't worth celebrating, not that too many people knew the reason why I was leaving. The department staff update email sent yesterday morning just said that I was leaving to pursue other opportunities. I insisted on that wording and not the vague "is no longer with the company as of July 5".

Outside the department, I only directly told a few people and they did wish me well and all that. The lab only found out because the supervisor forwarded them the staff update email:rolleyes:

Counter offer accepted :woohoo: I'm getting the salary requested and the earlier hours although they did say that there may be times when earlier hours can't be accommodated. Which is fine as long as I know ahead of time when I would need to work 9 to 5 or work as usual and stay a little late for OT. Salary is still lower than what I was previously making but I have to remember that my comfy salary was the result of pay increases over the years. I'll just have to go on a shoestring budget for awhile and only spend money on the (expensive) living costs, groceries, and the cats. And hope for a raise next year along with a bonus :crossfingers:

I'm going to print out all the documents now, sign them, scan then, and email them back to HR :D

I start on July 16. So I have a week off to relax :D

Should I arrive for my first day of work at 9am and then work out hours with my new supervisor? I don't want to show up at 7am and just wait around for people to arrive:paranoid: I'm not even sure if the building is even open that early. Unlike my previous employer, the building is not staffed 24/7 with security.

I would call or email your new boss and ask what time he/she wants you to report that first day.

I don't have the supervisor's phone number or email. The only email addresses I have are for the senior VP and HR. I'll ask HR when they respond to my offer acceptance.

There you go. Actually, I was wrong, HR is the appropriate contact person for questions such as that!!

Quiet  There isn't anything to do in the facility until orders arrive and that won't be until the company gets a bunch of stuff approved. There were few people in the building today. Management has a separate office downtown. I'm guessing people have either been hired and haven't started yet and/or the company is still in the hiring process.
I got set up with my Surface Pro tablet  Fancy. And I get a desk again :yess: I last had a desk nearly a year ago. I missed having a desk, in a private office too:sigh: I'm going to go through all my old desk stuff and see what I can take to my new desk. I only get an open cubicle thing in a giant room but I don't expect to spend much time at the desk once the facility is busy.

My co-worker seems ok so far. Definitely not crazy social / chatty / etc. I'm sure we'll work well together. She doesn't have much experience in the field (a relative newbie at just 2.5 years and a fairly recent college grad) but has a wider range of specific skills that I don't have. I guess the company thought that our experiences plus the supervisor's (just 6 years) combined would work well  The supervisor I met before at the second interview and he's cool.

Quiet’s good for awhile. You’re probably still recovering from the previous job! it sounds promising, though.
