An update from foster care. All is well with Cloud and Stratus. Yay! Thrasher as well. I am so glad they are doing well. The little Tortie baby that belongs to Thrasher is feral but also doing okay. The husband of my foster care friend has named him. I think it’s a great name! Marble. Heh. I would not have thought of that one but it certainly fits his coloring.
Whistle seems to be holding his own. He is a real trooper about taking his medicine. Just takes it right down. Sweet, sweet kitten.
I groomed Nimbus and Mitsy tonight with a little brush they like. Nimbus is a really funny kitten. He is full of spunk! At first he swatted the brush but when I got in enough strokes he decided it felt too good to resist. It worked with his mom too. She is still shying away from me when I first approach her to pet or touch but that little brush has helped me win over many wild kitties. I really need these two to allow me to pick them up and hold them. I can pick Nimbus up but he isn’t interested in being held for very long. Mitsy is still afraid of being picked up and melts out of my hands immediately. We will just keep practicing.
I was able to pet the same two ferals kittens at supper. All three of the litter were less timid tonight. I also gained a little ground with Kelly and her babies. They were’t as quick to run. Kelly layed under a tree and didn’t move! Her smallest baby, a Calico, actually sat and watched me. The other two babies allowed me to remain close as they ate. It may sound like small progress but to me it is a sign that they are beginning to accept me. An indication that they can be caught. I think they will be adopted quickly if I can get them. Their markings are really pretty. One is a Calico but with a lot of white, one is white with some orange tabby markings and one is almost all whits with the exception of a Calico behind! A Calico behind is a bit different! All cute babies. Between the progress with them and the babies Flowers left behind, I am encouraged. It is reminding me that I did need to let go of the other babies in order to try and save these kitties. Every minute counts with these cats.
I thought I would have a little rest time today with some of the kitties gone but I actually spent the time sterilizing the cat areas. It’s always a battle to keep everything clean with so many kitties. I did sit down with the intention of resting but the cleaning urge got me back up. Lol I am going room by room and cleaning everything in it. Just wish there were more hours in the day. I did have help though. My old Smokey decided to clean out a drawer for me. She kind of flakes out on me before she finished though.

She must have been overwhelmed by the amount of work!

Or, perhaps she just saw that it was her bedtime. Lol

I did ask for other volunteers to help clean. Banjo raised his paw.

But it turned out that he thought he was volunteering to snuggle. She seemed pleased that the Snuggle was accepted!:catlove:

Tomorrow I take Whistle for a check up and his booster shots. I am anxious to get a clean bill of health for him. If he does not, he will likely remain with me. If he does then he will be cleared for his adoption on the 21st. If nothing else arises between now and then. Time will tell. I dearly want for him to go with Banjo since they are very attached to each other. It’s always hard to divide families but in this case I think it would be very hard for the kitties. Of course, there is always a chance the adopting family will reject one or both because Whistle was sick. I shall have to leave it to them to decide based on the facts. I will be giving them a full and accurate picture of what has occurred. I have never adopted out a sick kitty. It is too rough on the kitty and the new owners.

Well, we have a few poor pics of the most recent arrivals on the property. Kelly and two of her kittens. The smallest, calico, did not want to be photographed. Maybe tomorrow. The Mom, Kelly, decided to be coy. I could only get her eyes. Lol Beautiful eyes though. I had to take the other pics at a distance so quality is poor. At least we can see how cute they are. I love the coloring. Below you will find my impression of their thoughts.

Ummmmm. This is pretty good stuff!

I hope Whistle passes his health check with flying colours. It would be great if he was adopted with his sister.

Those new little kittens are so sweet! Hope you can win them over soon. I have a girl who is all white with just calico ears and tail. She's a feisty little thing, but very affectionate.

Good luck!

:goodluck:

Cat chaos this morning. A great surprise. I was trying to catch the tabby kittens that I call the ducks. Flowers babies. One decided to eat where I try to catch the last two Thrasher babies. The Thrasher babies appeared but were put off by the kitten. I ran and got a third carrier with food. I got the kitten (duck) in small carrier, then got the two Thrasher babies in their carrier, then got the other two (duck) kittens in a third carrier. It all happened within minutes!!!!! Kitten crazy! Pandemonium!
Trying to get them sorted out so I can get Whistle to the vet on time. Thrasher comes home tomorrow. Where am I going to put everyone? Hopefully some can go out quickly. Four adult cats go in 8 days for possible acceptance to shelter for adoption. Banjo and Whistle are supposed to go the next day. Good, no, great vibes everyone! Pleeeeease! That leaves one litter ( Calico) to catch, with mom. As well as seeing if Flowers is still around and the male responsible for every baby. Will I do it? Who knows. Going to try. Try to get pics if I survive the day. Lol Good wishes needed for Whistle too!

I'm so happy for the kitten pandemonium. I can't wait to see pictures.
Thank you for that! Still chaotic but better. I will try to get some more pics at feeding. Running late tonight. Will post them later but more news follows.
:vibes::vibes::vibes:
Can't wait to see more pics. Calicos & Torties are my favorite.
I love the Calico kitties too. These are especially pretty. I guess I always say that though, don’t I? It was near dark when I brought Whistle home but the Kelly babies stayed longer in my prescence. I will try to get good shots in daylight tomorrow for you. The littlest one is sooooo cute.

Congrats on getting the kittens! Hope Whistle's vet visit goes/went well.
Whistle got okay from vet for adoption. I still insisted on blood level check for anemia. It was at the low level of normal. I will wait to decide if he can go. Also must inform adopting person. Vet still says he is good to go. All shots done. I will continue Capstar and high nutrition food. His level is MUCH higher than it was. Time will tell me what to do next.
Other news is great too!
Within an hour of going up for adoption, Cloud found love and a new home! Go Cloud! I don’t know if she got them with her beauty,

It was just a winning combination of them all. Someone got a fantastic little baby.
I still laugh every time I think of the picture where her brother startled her from under her bed, and the look she gave him next. Love these kitties!

Here are the first pictures of the babies belonging to Flowers. These are the ones that always came out together in formation like a row of little ducks, this the nickname, the ducks. They are settling in well for ferals! I have already petted them all. A toy is a new experience. They were mildly interested.
The Thrasher babies are still terrified. No pictures of them for the moment.

Um...me, too. And even if they weren't, I'd never admit it. Hekitty reads over my shoulder.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie, then, if they are little toms...

Yay Cloud! It only took her an hour to be adopted? That's amazing. :cheerleader:
I am so happy she got a home so quickly. As you know, I hated letting her go but that makes all the difference.

Um...me, too. And even if they weren't, I'd never admit it. Hekitty reads over my shoulder.
Hekitty is checking up on you! Lol I do love smart kitties.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie, then, if they are little toms...
Perfect names. I will have to pass that on though.
The big news for tonight is that I don’t have the ducks here now! They went to foster today!
More news. The Thrasher kittens left too!
Well actually, 6 kittens left today. Nimbus went to join Stratus at foster care!
I hate not posting more pictures of the babies before they got rescued to foster but it came at a great time for me. Apparently I injured my back when I did all that kitty catching. I woke up in severe pain and barely able to function. Not only do I have adult cats and kittens here to tend but having the five new kittens was going to take special attention. I was very concerned as to how I would manage today. Foster kitten lady to the rescue! Thank you my dear friend! I also got help from two others. A friend who helped me with my quadriplegic daughter came to feed the kitties. Mary, thank you from me and the kitties. Also, the grandson of another friend came to help and has been cleaning the litter boxes! He is a teenager and yet did this to help! I will post more about their help later but for tonight I must sign off. I have to mind my doctor. I was scolded for not acting my age while kittiy catching. Tee hee. Obviously they know me too well so I will behave for the moment and take care of my back. I’ll return with more good news tomorrow!
Banjo is sending out a “ high five” to all!
