Hi there welcome!

I would say no, as Egyptian maus are not a very popular or plentifal breed. My friend also owns an Egyptian Mau herself, and you can see, that the coloring is fairly distinct and when it comes to maus, they do not have white patches of fur at all. They are basically spotted tabbies who actually get their coloring from the silver gene :) your girl is a broken mackerel tabby and is a domestic short hair :)

I agree, you have a lovely little tabby and white domestic shorthair. Her pattern is broken mackerel which has some spots and some stripes. This is a common pattern in the domestic cat.

Egyptian Maus have three colors that are accepted for show: smoke, silver, and bronze (which is brown tabby, without the silver gene).

Thanks everyone
I didn't think she was a pure breed, but wondered if she had done in her due to her unusualarlongs.
She's extremely affectionate with me but not strangers. She's really curious about water too - sits or walks around the edge of the bath tub when my son is in the bath.
She's quite small and long but she's only 3 or 4 moths old so I'm still getting to her :)

She is Uber cute, however I do not believe here to have any mau ancestry. Tabbies can appear to be spotted, but in reality it is just broken mackerel. Maus are really not common at all in the USA, and unless you have seen papers or a pedigree you can not be sure. In the almost non existent occasion for a pedigree mau is outcrossed. Therefore even if she did happen to be an extremely rare case, she would still be considered a domestic short hair.

Wow! Thanks So informative
Looked at the other thread and my kitty's markings are pretty much identical ☺ - only real difference is my little lady is grey tones with only bronzey colour on her nose.
Thanks again

I have no idea but she is absolutely adorable!

Her markings remind me of my new kitten. I made a thread too as with spots and her traits.. I wondered if she may have bengal in her and also felt her mum has an interesting appearance.
What Do You Think?
