Is it mostly a low meow or a high meow? A LOOOOOOOOOONG meow or a short meow? Meows with purrs in them? Does your cat mostly say some angry meows or happy ones? Bailey has HIGH pitched meows! It can get really irritating sometimes but I still love him!

2 of my cats had and raised litters before they got spayed. If I play a Youtube video of a kitten in distress, calling it's mom, they both come running and get very agitated looking for the kitten. The others who have never had kittens just ignore it. Your kitten calling just set off the moms so it is wanting help of some kind from mom and is calling for help. At least that is the opinion of my former mom's. Probably just looking for attention.

~ My largest cat - "Big Boy" - squeaks like a little mouse . Seems the smaller cats are the loudest !
I have twin black cats that talk to me very loudly . They tell me to feed them and let them outside. Real big mouths ... Very bossy guys ! o_O:gingercat:

Diamond has a strange vocalization. He only uses it when he is disappointed or he wants something. There is no variation in it, just a long, "Ehhhhhhhhh!" That's as close as he gets to a meow.

Seal has a pitiful little meow, but only uses it when he is hungry. When I hear Seal meow, I know it is time to feed the cats! It's like an alarm!

Leonid meows, at least he looks like he is meowing. But you had better be standing next to him if you expect to hear it. Even then you have to listen closely. Big kitty with a little high pitched meow.

My kitties don't make much noise and I'm fine with that.

We have tiny "meeps", louder "prrts", one that goes "MAHHHH", a few that go "prrrr-OW", one that sounds like a fog horn and one I just today said sounded like a constipated lizard.
We got all kinds, I s'pose =D

Shadow doesn't talk much. I get the silent meow from her a lot. When is breakfast or dinner time, I get some tiny squeaks out of her when I ask her "Do you want breakfast/dinner?"

Sinbad doesn't meow, he talks. Streams of different syllables that sound like a foreign language.

Tempest has 2 main sounds that she makes. One is a little trill when she is drawing attention to the fact that her belly is in the air and needs rubbing. The other is this screech that sounds like a jungle bird trying to signal to its friends across the miles of jungle.

Belit just makes a little "ke" sound. Ke ke ke ke.

One of ours makes a really odd fog horn noise when he wants attention. He'll keep this up, whenever eye contact is made he flops on his side, legs extended, waiting for food, attention, toys...anything but belly rubs. Don't rub his belly. He will shred you.
We call him a fainting goat. It's really kind of hilarious!

Hehe. Tempest and Belit both adore belly rubs. They'll literally flop on their backs with so much enthusiasm there is a loud thumping sound, and make little noises to catch your attention.

Out of 9, we have two that will shred skin with a belly rub. 7 outta 9 ain't bad.. =D
When I'm in a great mood, our top girl is adorable (and when I'm in a bad mood, she's obnoxious) about belly rubs...and belly brushes and combs and all that stuff. *I* am the human chosen for this and it doesn't matter to her if I have a mile long list of stuff to do that day...over slept...out of coffee...she demands what she demands. =D

Ten of mine sound just like cats. Then there's Moo Shu Snowshoe with her Siamese-Snowshoe voice running night and day. I can't figure out how to connect the ol' Wollensak reel-to-reel to this fancy new-fangled Commodore 32, but she kinda sounds like a band of Orcs tossing thousands of opera singers into a big meat grinder connected to a bullhorn.

Mingo has lots of different voices that clearly express his feelings. The one I love the most is when I unexpectedly call him. He comes running with this happy "mew, ew, ew, ew, ew." It's adorable.

Lily rarely speaks, and then it's just a deep "Mao."

My Windy has a soft, sweet Meow. My little Theo doesn't have a meow. He makes a high pitched sound when he's curious about something.

I'm going to print this picture out and stick it on my desk because every time I see it I start laughing and imagining captions, none that can ever beat "a band of Orcs tossing thousands of opera singers into a big meat grinder connected to a bullhorn" though. :flail::flail::flail:
