Today I got a message from a woman who was frantic saying she had a kitten emergency. She informed me that a pregnant mother and her 5 one week old kittens, were dumped at the farm she worked at in a towel soaked in cat urine and underneath a tree. The mother was frantically trying to get into all the cars at the property and was clearly a friendly house cat when approached. I now have them staying in my bedroom. The mother is catnip crazy, loving, and gorgeous and all of her babies and herself are healthy. She wouldn’t have lasted a day at that farm, according to her lady who handed her over to me. I will post kitten photos later. For now here is a photo of her. This breaks my heart.

Everyone besides breeders should spay and neuter. Period. These situations shouldn’t be happening.

People shouldn't dump, either, when a cat has kittens. This is horrible. There are shelters everywhere that will take the mom and kits. To me, this is worse than not spaying. It is soooo irresponsible.

My gorgeous Lily is a dumpee, and it breaks my heart that anyone would do this to a sweet, loving cat who trusts people.

People definately shouldn’t dump. To me dumping unspayed is worse than dumping. Only because it creates more lives at risk and not only the mother, but the kittens have to suffer as well. Dumping is illegal and definately is a terrible, terrible thing that shouldn’t be taken lightly. However people seem to think that they are giving cats a better opportunity to survive than a humane society. I will likely be taking her in, in a few days as I have to leave. For now I will keep her and nurture her until it’s absolutely necessary to surrender.

She came from the same farm as my other cat Amora... I was broken hearted to receive another message this afternoon.

When do you need to surrender this cat family? Where will you take them?
I will take them to my local humane society who has a stray policy and foster homes available along with a very good anti euthnasia rate. I’m leaving on June 21 so I will likely surrender her tomorrow. I wish I could keep her but, I wouldn’t be able to give her the care she needs as I will be gone. Not to mention I’ve been getting a lot of ridicule for even taking her and Amora in by a few *cough* hags *cough* because they think I keep Amora around my personal cats and that I never took her to the vet :flail:.

Funny how when people see something they take it and run with it. Little do they know Amora has a prescription with her name on it from the vet for her upper respiratory still in my fridge. And that Amora wasn’t let around my pets besides one incident where she darted out of our room. :p
