Pheromone diffusers for aggression in multi-cat households
An interesting report on the results of a pilot study.

Fingers crossed here, too. If anything, the diffusers are easy to get if problem arise.Interesting. We have used these in the past when introducing new cats to the household. I don't know if they made a difference because we have no idea if things would have been different without them.
We will be introducing a new kitten soon and are not planning on using the diffusers this time. Fingers crossed it goes well.
Is this new behavior on his part harrys mom 02 ? If so, get your girl checked for a UTI, sometimes a UTI in girls (spayed) can bring out this behavior even in long neutered boys.Any suggestions as to how to stop neutered male (for many years now) trying to hump spayed female (also for many years). Thanks!
I'm already second guessing my decision to not use Feliway. We are still in the scent swapping phase but the new baby keeps darting out of his safe room, ready to explore. The older cats seem fine with him except one. My two year old is hissing and stressed by his presence. I keep telling myself to be calm and it will work out, but honestly I have the Feliway multicat sitting in my Amazon shopping cart as I type this. Trying to hold out and not place the order...I tend to use them when anything changes, when we moved house, for example, and whenever I get an new rescue or foster kittens. As weebeasties said, it's impossible to know how bad they'd be without it. I'm interested to hear how the introductions go with the new kitten this time weebeasties.
I came across this old thread and though EXTREMELY late, thought I would post an update. I never did use feliway with the new kitten, Buddy. I just did slow introductions. Maybe 3-4 weeks. There were some issues with Buddy the kitten doing ninja attacks on his elders, but I honestly don't think feliway would have made a difference. He was just playing. The adults accepted him quite quickly despite him being very rambunctious. Overall, I'm glad I saved my money and just went slowly with the intros. If, however, the adults had shown any aggression, I probably would have tried the feliway.I tend to use them when anything changes, when we moved house, for example, and whenever I get an new rescue or foster kittens.
