I’ve been in a quest to obtain accurate carbohydrate dry matter numbers from manufacturers. I contacted merrick today and they got back to me rather quickly. All these look great. Sharing for your information in case anyone feeds these.

I feed the rabbit and I was always wondering about that! You are the bomb!
Mine love love love these and have done really really well on them. They also love the rabbit. I'm not completely thrilled with all of the ingredients but my cats love all the merrick pates so I feed them in rotation with some other brands.

I wish they didn't have carrageenan!

The rabbit pate is the only one that doesn't, which is the only one I use. It's weird how they clearly can make a food that doesn't include it, yet all their other flavors have it.

Omg me too! Well the rabbitt pate doesn’t so I always order that plus I get 1 other non fishy flavor and the rest of the food I feed is carrageenan free so I justify feeding it in rotation. I actually tried switching to whole earth farms because it’s basically merrick without carrageenan but my cats did better on the original merrick. If they didn’t love it so much I’d try to avoid it. Otherwise I think it’s a great food!

I know! It makes me so mad :livid:! I always buy a case of the rabbitt along with 1 other flavor (sometimes beef, sometimes chicken, they started to like turkey recently so I brought up a few cans from the basement from a stack of food they grew tired of previously :frustrated:. All the other food I feed is carrageenan free so in rotation I guess it’s ok since they love love love it so much and do really well on it

This is what we feed, too. Thanks for the information. :clapcat:
You’re very welcome. My cats do great on it and always clean their plates. I wish they would get rid of the carrageenan but I guess we can’t have it all :confused2:

There is a range of Merrick Limited Ingredient Diet with no carrageenan in Duck, chicken, turkey etc. the only ingredient that some might not like is guar gum. I haven’t tried it yet myself though (by me I mean Olive, my cat food taste tester).

I tried that one before and they were not too thrilled with it..... I’ll try again in a few months you never know. A month ago they didn’t want anything to do with turkey now they are going crazy for it so there is hope. I’ll have to try the limited ingredients merrick again. Thank you for the suggestion

Our cats used to love the Merrick LID... but the Merrick added pea protein and the cats decided they hated Merrick LID before I could knock it off the menu for containing pea protein!

It's good to know that the rabbit food doesn't have carrageenan. I've never fed rabbit... I had pet rabbits as a kid so have odd feelings about it but am keeping rabbit in reserve, just in case I ever need to feed the cats a totally novel protein! ;)
