If yes, how much do you give and how often? What brands do you use?

I use a capsule of sundown (I think that's what it is) human vitamin fish oil and add that to some non onion/non garlic baby food once a week or so. He turns up his nose sometimes. He also gets a small amount of sardines now and then, maybe once a week. It has made a difference in his dry skin, he's a black cat and it appeared that he had dandruff flakes. Even now in the winter I'm seeing hardly any dry flakes.

Not a cat but my cousin uses sundown too once a day for her lab and he is a shiny shiny looker. Everyone comments on how amazingly shiny and soft he is. He also has less dandruff then when he first started taking them a year ago or so. Good food does all the wonders it needs to for my cats haha. I feel no need to supplement them.

I don't supplement the girls, but the boys get it in their home made raw food all the time, at the max amount. Dr Pierson said it helps with inflammation when we did our consult.
The girls are not fond of the fishies. I'm not sure if they'll eat the tuna shreds, but they don't like their salmon foods near as much as the chicken when we're doing our reviews for different variety packs.
Fish oil is in their canned food and salmon oil is in their kibble.

Thanks guys. I am going to add some to my kitty's food because he has been having skin and health problems lately. I hope it will help to boost his immune system and clear up his skin. I just wanted to be sure that it's okay to give it every day? I don't see it as an ingredient in the regular food he's eating.

I don't actually know for sure, I'd say if your cats system tolerates it, fire away. Best of luck!!

I have a bottle of Nature's Logic North Atlantic sardine oil that I add to Gizmo's homemade raw food once a day. I prefer sardines/sardine oil since, from what I understand, a sardine doesn't usually have much of a long life to actually have as many contaminates as salmon or other fish. He gets half a pump, which is about 1/2 teaspoon, into one of his meals and he doesn't seem to mind it.

G Gizmobius , how do you measure out half a pump? The one I purchased says to feed that amount per day too. The brand I got is Omegease.

Neo_23 Neo_23 Honestly I just try to only push down on the pump enough so that it seems like I've pushed it down half way.

Sounds like a good idea to me!
I guess if you wanted exact measurements you could use a syringe/dropper?

It's supposed to help with irritated skin, it's worth a shot trying.
