Drools lightly, my foot! My keyboard is a slobbering mess! Darn, but that pizza looks good!

No clue tonight. Rick is off work today. I have a hair appt tonight. I guess whatever he makes will be fine.
Thanks y'all. :)

I make the dough 8-12 hours in advance and let it sit in the fridge overnight, or while I'm at work, depending on when I plan to cook.

Tonight for dinner, I'll probably polish off the rest of the pizza.

One pot chicken with veggies and rice. It's pretty much my go-to meals when I'm too uninpsired to cook anything else.

Not only did I bookmark that (my pinit button isn't working), but I actually subscribed to their emails!

Tonight...Um. Tuna salad? I dunno. I'm winging the next week. Easy, no hassle. WAIT...I found a can of mixed veggies I forgot I had. I can do the whole rahmen, chicken and veggie thing again. That was pretty good.

We're going over to my sister's this afternoon to watch the Eagles game and will eat during half time.

Pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw, crock pot beans, a relish tray, mac and cheese, and either a chocolate cake with whipped peanut butter frosting or a party lemonade cake....it's up to me and I haven't decided yet (and I need to do so soon so I can bake the thing!).

Spaghetti tonight. After this month, when I go shopping, I really, really need to get back to "real food" instead of quick and easy. That's the downfall of living alone. So often you just don't want to bother. It doesn't help that I don't mind eating the same things for weeks on end.

I've been relying too heavily on the Bird's Eye seasoned Steamables. SO easy...just bake a chop or a chicken breast, throw a package in the microwave, and you're done. Not real cooking at all.

No real cooking at all sounds pretty nice right now. I go through "feel like cooking" and "don't feel like cooking" phases. I'm in a cooking from scratch phase lately, but opening a bag of Bird's Eye Steamables is sounding really good!

I spent the entire morning making Asian pork and cabbage dumplings with orange-ginger sauce. That was a lot of work, for a few bites of food, but they are for lunch and dinner tonight.

Not pretty.

That looks better.

Dumplings with orange-ginger sauce.

I frequently rely on the Birds Eye steamed veggies and add tofu, falafel or my favorite - garbanzo cakes.

Long day today visiting my sister-in-law in the hospital so DH and I agreed to treat ourselves to Asian carry out tonight. I'm undecided between veggie egg foo young, tofu w/mixed steamed veggies or zucchini w/black beans and rice.

Let me ask a dumb question. I've never heard of veggie egg foo young. Does it have eggs in it or is it just meatless? Does Korean restaurants have many vegetarian dishes in their restaurant? A friend of mine wants me to go to one.

Not dumb at all and, yes, it is made with eggs and vegetables. (There is egg foo young made with meat also.)
Cookistry: Fresh Vegetable Egg Foo Yung

I don't know about all Korean restaurants but the one I have been going to for years is all vegetarian and vegan. The owner(s) and chef(s) are two brothers, the atmosphere is very relaxing, i.e. cell phones are not allowed, and they play soothing music indicative of their Buddhist background. The food is unique, fresh and generous portions. I generally go for lunch but order another item to bring home for dinner.

Did you make your own dough orange&white orange&white ? Most people use store bought wonton wrappers because of convenience and the wrappers are just the right thinness for dumplings.

This recipie is on my list of things to make: Freezer-Friendly Recipe: Shiitake Mushroom & Tofu Potstickers

I had leftover one pot chicken and veggies and rice with some cooked spinach.
That recipe for potstickers looks delicious, LTS3!

Yes, I made the dough for the dumplings. That's why they look like cabbage body bags rather than tidy little uniform packets.

Dough is pretty easy, and only costs pennies versus packaged wrappers.

orange&white orange&white those potstickers look yummy! I've made them before and I think it took me all morning to make those buggers. They sure are good, though, and Rick really likes them. I haven't them now in quite a while. I'm like you; I go through phases where I don't want to cook anything, followed by times when I want to cook everything.

I made a Lemonade Party Cake yesterday for our dinner over at my sister's last night. Here's what comical. My birthday is later on in January; she ordered a bakery cake from a local restaurant: just a white two-layer cake, prettily decorated, with a lemon curd filling! I made the lemonade party cake! So both cakes were lemon....and neither of us knew about the other cake! (Originally I was going to make a peanut butter pie, but we had had a lot of PB over the holidays. Then I was thinking about the chocolate cake with PB frosting, but ultimately decided on the lemonade cake.) So when we got over there last night, I put the cake in the fridge. My sister asked me what kind of cake it was. I told her lemon and she and my niece got wide-eyed and then started laughing. They said they'd explain later. So when it was time for dessert, I got my cake out, she got the bakery birthday cake out....and they were both lemon! I guess great minds think alike! We all got a good chuckle out of that. She lit candles....six on one side, three on the other (because I'm going to be 63 on January 24th) and 63 candles would have burned, not only the cake down, but probably the kitchen, too. She lit the candles, they sang Happy Birthday, and our little nephew blew the candles out. We really did have a great time last night. Lots of lemon! (And the Eagles won, too! I didn't really care, but everybody else did and there was much cheering throughout the kitchen!)

Anyway, I have a bit of leftover crock pot beans and some mac and cheese from last night's football dinner. We'll have it, with boneless, skinless chicken breasts done on the indoor grill.

What a great story, Winchester! What's better than lemon cake? Two lemon cakes!!! Happy birthday, in advance! :bday: :celebrate:

Too early for me to decide what's for dinner tonight. There are frozen leftovers from most of my cooking adventures for the days I don't want to cook.
