They both officially hate the hound and gatos. :cloudy:

I’m stressed now, because someone will take care of them starting tomorrow for three days while I’m gone, and I wanted the feeding part to be easier (and less messy)... Will they adopt the brand eventually? In your experience? Can I send the cans back?

So I've been giving them the probiotic for two days. They love the taste of it apparently (for now), but I haven't seen any changes yet. The only reason I'm surprised it hasn't helped yet, is because I've been taking it, too, and oh my did he clog me right away... (sorry) So I'm worried it might have the same effect on them.

Anyway, the poop is smellier and they both fart a little too much. So I'm trying the paté instead of the gravy thing, and if nothing changes I'll have to look outside of Nutro. :/

Sorry to hear it’s not working. Is it the Jarrow one?

Yeah. Is it supposed to work right away? Maybe I can increase the dosage.

Well I went backwards a bit and am going to try Authority kitten dry food. The ingredients aren’t bad (better than Pro Plan grain free for sure), and it won’t be their main food anyway. They need something to sustain them while I’m gone all day, especially the sister who doesn’t eat the Blue Buffalo at all. She starves all day until I get home, poor thing.

That + the soft loaf from Nutro, it might work, I hope.

Hi all!
So introducing grain was a big mistake it seems. I thought I could cheat and give them a little bit of that to harden their stool, but Salmon's (the male) stools are much worse. They've only had the kibble a few times, though. I was a savage and mixed old kibble and new kibble together, and there is 1/3 old and 2/3 new in the bag.

If it's the transition that went badly (understandable), how long do you think it will take him to be over his poop issues?
How come his sister, who eats the same food but maybe less kibble than him, is still normal?
Do you think I can get him back on the old kibble exclusively just like that?

I have two roommates and the poop issues are getting really annoying for them. It's smelly and Salmon scoots on the floor, so it's a little gross...

To keep notes with our poop/food journey xD
I just received the RAWZ samples I asked for, and the seem to love it all, puch, can and kibble. Let's see how the poop goes!

Neo_23 Neo_23 can I ask you how much a case of canned Rawz is?
Cheapest I have found it for is $2.29 CDN per can (so 24 cans in a case would be $54.96). That should be around $1.79US per can ($42.96 a case). And the store also gives me a 3% discount on cases, which isn't much.. but it's better than nothing.

I lucked out finding a store that has it this cheap though. Most stores around here sell it for $2.49 a can which would be closer to $2.00 US.

Yeah... it’s definitely a budget. I called a local store, they will call me back tomorrow with price info. I’ll share them here. My cat has been doing really well poop-wise with a mix of that and Nutro. Hopefully that works for him!

Rawz has helped a lot with my kitten's digestive issues too, so the price has been worth it for me. Plus, remember that you're getting 200 kcal in one 5.5 oz can, which makes it even cheaper if you think about it and compare with other foods which are usually around 150 kcal per 5.5oz.

Just curious, are you feeding RAWZ canned and how is it going. I feed my kitties First Mate but was thinking of switching or adding RAWZ to the rotation. Thanks.

Hi there, the kitten that I referred to in this post unfortunately passed away a month ago due to heart failure. He did very well on Rawz though and it was the only food he could digest. I am feeding my current cat Rawz turkey and Nature's Variety rabbit and I'm actually thinking of adding some Kasik into the mix. In my opinion it is comparable to Rawz except that it is much higher in carbs (Rawz is higher in fat). I think it's good to feed a rotation of different brands though.
