The video is in the daredevils thread. He does jump from the stair newel. It is quite a jump nonetheless. He also has jumped from the top stair to the floor, but doesn't seem to do that lately.
He must scare you to near death! Does he jump to the newel from his window perch?

He jumps to the floor. You can hear him land throughout the house. It doesn't worry me anymore, but I get nervous when he looks ready to jump from the top stairs. I'm afraid he's going to try for the upper window one of these days. Then we'll really have a problem.
You're right, she does! You can't see it in the picture, but the white patch behind her left ear looks like the silhouette of a cat's head too.
My sister pointed out that she could be one one of those Cats That Look Like Hitler sites.
