Hello everyone! I've kinda recapped on all the threads I've posted asking for help and I appreciate it, but for anyone who doesn't know I'm Chloe! I've had family cats throughout my life and come from a long line of cat ladies who brought home strays monthly. I'm pretty positive it's genetic. However, I just moved into my own apartment not too long ago and was looking for my first cat. I wanted a baby because it'd been several years and my school schedule is pretty lax right now so I have more time than is typical to raise a new baby. I scoured Petfinder for a very long time, but didn't have much luck through rescues as an 18 year old in an apartment with no other pets believe it or not. However, a friend of a relative that lived several hours away got ahold of me via Facebook and had SEVERAL kittens. I was able to pick one out and have her for free. I made the drive on Monday morning and was a little unnerved by what I saw. The cats were outside and there were 20-30 of them, just all in her yard. Granted, it was a big country house with wide open land and woods, but I live in michigan and it's pretty darn cold around here this time of year. I thought she'd taken them in, but my baby doesn't meow, which leads me to believe mama was feral so she'd never been in the house at all. She's very sweet and playful and as soon as she came home I knew I'd been through the long difficult search and let downs for a reason. It was meant to be. :catrub: I was worried I may never be able to get one at all because my boyfriend has cat allergies, but she doesn't set him off at all and they are the best of friends. He is filling the role of cat dad quite nicely. :D

Meet Geneva, or Evie for short! She's 8 weeks old. We named her after a road we passed on the long drive home and it just stuck. She unfortunately has a lot of issues. Today was her first vet appointment and she has a very severe case of roundworm, probably ringworm, severe fleas, and we thought she may be deaf or hard of hearing because she didn't respond to sound, but nope: severe ear mites. Her immune system was too weak for her vaccines today. :( She has a follow up next week and we're hoping for better news, but we're in love and I just wanted to share! I'm sure I'll be here frequently from here on out. Enjoy a ton of cute kitten pics!

Hey there congrats on the new kitten! About the allergy thing IMO and experience kittens don't usually set off allergies. I'm allergic to cats but whenever I'm around a kitten I'm fine. Just when there full grown thats when my allergies say sneak attack!!! No worries though I have a solution for you that I used regularly on all my cats so my allergies wouldn't flare up and I could keep the cute little fur balls around. When there full grown and flaring up your BF allergies give them some vitamin E oil in your little kitties food. JUST MAKE SURE TO ASK YOUR VET FIRST and to get the right measurements to give your kitty before giving them the vitamin E. Sorry for the caps but I don't want you to hurt the little one. I've grown up with cats all my life to and even volunteered at a animal shelter at one point(Never do that IMO it's sad). I was always feeding the strays and rescuing the kitties when I could. I hope you and your new kitten have great many happy years together ^-^.

Welcome Evie and @chloebell and boyfriend to TCS! You're sure to love it here. Your pix are adorable! and the great thing is that all of the things you've mentioned are easily treatable when Evie is old enough/weighs enough/is pronounced well enough by a vet to get treatment. Wishing her a long, happy, healthy, LOVED life with you! I'm from a cat-loving family, too, going back to the mists of time, on both sides, and of both genders. Was born into a home "with cat" and couldn't even imagine life without cats. Whatever questions you may have are sure to be answered here on the site. Enjoy, and again, conCATulations on adopting Evie!:dancingblackcat:

:hellocomputer: Hello and welcome. The three of you look very happy and Evie is adorable, looking forward to many more wonderful photos. So happy you saved Evie. I was just wondering if you think it would do the rest of the poor dear kitty's any good for you to mention all of Evies health issues to the person you got her from? Take care, see you around the site:catrub:

chloebelle chloebelle - Your title says, "Pic Overload Warming," but she's so perfect and pretty you couldn't overload on Evie. Bonus - Tinypaws / Tinyclaws!

I hope we see more of her on other photo threads too.

Thank you everyone for the kind words! (: And yes, I did update her and tried to phrase it as kindly as possible. Her response was "Yeah I knew she probably had worms" I think she has good intentions but is now overwhelmed as the litters keep coming but can not afford veterinary care. I spoke to my vet and she advised me to call animal control to talk about doing a trap and release type thing and get some of them spayed/neutured. I am planning on doing so probably next week just so she doesn't think I'm attacking her. I just feel for the other kitties!

Please do call animal control! Evie is so lucky that you found her, and I hope the other cats can get some help soon.

It really sounds like she needs some help with getting things under control. TNR is the best option.

Come and check out our strays and feral forum. Lots of people there have experience of doing TNR for feral or outdoor cats.
