Hubby put the winter tires on the car yesterday, so it can snow whenever it wants.

For the first time in over 30 years, we're not out raking leaves every day this time of year. The town took down the huge beech tree in front of the house earlier this year: no more leaves all over, worrying it would fall on the house during a bad storm, or witnessing cars/trucks hitting it.

Ah, you're lucky! My back yard needs a good raking, but I'm going to wait until the last of the leaves have fallen before I do that again. Last year when I raked I found a couple of cat collars, one of their soft toys and a bunch of my hair scrunches out in the leaves.

I'm grateful for hidden treasures waiting to be raked up.

This post gave me a whole new perspective on the loss of our pecan tree this summer. It was traumatic to lose it. But now I can think about not having to rake and clean up the leaves this year. Yeah.

It's always a happy day when your cats get new toys and they actually like them! Three of those little catnip stuffed sardines made by Yeowww arrived yesterday and Paul and Chula instantly turned into kittens, tossing them up into the air, giving them the bunny feet routine, chewing on them, rubbing against them...It was wonderful to watch them being so happy.:redheartpump::redheartpump::clap:

Here is Chula gnawing away:

And here is Paul getting ready to disembowel his sardine while Chula contemplates jumping on him and stealing it.

I, too, have major joy when my Three play. Besides wand toys -- da Bird is their favorite, of course, and I love getting them airborne with it -- the catnip mice, birds, fruits, cigars, pillows -- oh, ANYTHING stuffed with strong 'nip is sure to get them spiraling into the stratosphere!

It's been a dreary weekend here, rainy and damp, so DH and I stopped into a coffee shop for something warm that just happens to be two doors down from our favorite independent pet store. The employees, who we know by name, were swamped since the store was having a special toy and treat sale so we bought each of them a coffee drink. Of course, you know we couldn't resist buying Carleton a new toy too! :hearthrob:

The first day of PST and it's starting to get darkish already. As a fan of that, I am so glad. I look forward to this time of year every year. I love Autumn, Winter, and Spring. Anyone who wants summer is welcome to my share. *Cool dark nights mean more CUDDLE TIME*

And yes, those are CAT-THEMED things. Because I'm not at all shy about my CAT fixation.
