If I've asked this questions before I apologize.

Does anyone use Merrick Limited Canned? If so is it the only canned you feed, what flavor how long have you been using.

Tks.

I use merrick limited ingredient chicken. It's part of my rotation so it is fed only twice a week. Have had it in their rotation a couple of years. Why do you ask?

I had used the LID duck one for awhile but switched to the perfect bistro duck instead. The reason was her vet suggested adding some fish oil to her diet to treat some dandruff she had, and Perfect bistro already had it in the formula.

The LID duck was very soft, kinda fluffy.

Mine have eaten the Merrick LID canned in the past and they were not thrilled with it. I do need to point out though that they are VERY picky eaters and run hot and cold towards most food- running cold right after I buy a case of any kind of food. :sigh:

They do like the Merrick rabbit pate, the Purrfect Bistro Grammy's Pot Pie and Chicken Casserole. Today they do. Let's see how they feel on Tuesday when the delivery arrives. :ohwell:

ScarlettGatsby ScarlettGatsby I agree about the duck. It does have a strange texture. Fluffy is a good way to describe it- it's almost got a mousse like texture.

Right now can only get her to eat Fancy Feast Classic Liver/Chicken or Turkey Giblets formulas. She won't eat chunks, flaked - just pate. My concern with the Merrick Limited is pea protein & flax oil which are both mostly useless to a cat.
Also it's just 5 oz not 5.5 oz.

Did the fish oil help with dandruff?

I agree with you about the ingredients! I used to feed our cats the Merrick LID turkey and duck, which they absolutely loved until Merrick added the pea protein... and then they started rejecting it.

They really like Rawz canned foods, though, both the turkey and chicken. Link here. They don't use gums to thicken, just fenugreek seeds.

Another pate that's very good that the cats like a lot is Feline Naturals, though it's kind of expensive for everyday use. It seems to be cheapest from local independent stores rather than online.

Good luck!
