Do you mean mating your cat?

This is not something that your cat wants emotionally or mentally. Her body will tell her to mate with hormones, but there is no need for you to allow this to happen.

Your cat is around three months old, correct? You can and should have her spayed any time now.

Female cats can get pregnant already at four months old. When a female cat is ready to mate, she goes into heat, which is pretty easy to recognize because it includes some pretty drastic changes in behavior. However, cats don't have the same emotional attachment to the idea of being parents as humans do, for them it's all instinct. By spaying your cat, you will help to prevent pet overpopulation, as well as save your cat from some potentially life-threatening conditions including pyometra and mammary gland tumors. Going through heat cycles as well as giving birth takes a big toll on a cat's body, so it will be to your kitty's health benefit for sure to get her spayed.

Yes please get her spayed she will be a lot happier and is way to young to get pregnant now anyway. Please do the right thing for her. You will enjoy her company more, she will be more mellow and above all else a lot healthier and you won't have to worry about complications with a pregnancy and trying to find homes for a bunch of kittens.

Even cats in heat will sometimes fight off intact males because the act of mating is far from pleasant for female cats. When cats mate it can be quite violent. A male cat will bite a female cat's neck in order to hold her down. Male cats have spikes on their penises that scrape a female cat's vagina in order to cause her to ovulate. It's not romantic in any way. The only thing that compels a female cat to mate are hormones and instinct. Mating and having kittens are not something they need in order to be happy or fulfilled.

Male cats will hurt her and can possibly make her very sick. Female cats in heat start peeing everywhere to make their sent and are generally restless and start basically screaming at all hours of the night. It's safer and healthier to have her spayed now. Letting her have a litter is bad on it's own, but especially since she is still just a baby. It could even kill her at such a young age to give birth.

Yes, heat is hormons. Look, when in heat, she will probably seek to seduce even you! The first occasion it befell to me, I felt quite embarrassed. - Does she really notice Im of the male sort? What would my family think of me?? But later on I noticed she was on "the missus" too... :)

Nay, they dont wish it themselves, its hormones and instincs.
Although they choose sometimes to take care of some little one in need of help. But this they may do also as spayed. For example quite a few males do that - most common among the neutered ones, although not unheard of among studs and toms.

Althouhg I dont say the self mating is always a rape. Some males are quite friendly and good at courting and step mounting on first when she is prepared and willing. The act hurts, and she chases him immediately afterwards. But afterwards they become friends, at least, if the the tom is such a friendly one...

But if you really DO want to have a litter, be sure she is at least one year old - but not too old. Long haired breeds tend to mature slower, so perhaps wait to 18-20 months.
Be sure the male is a friendly one - a friendly male tend to get friendly kittens. Also, its much more nice to be courted than raped....

Yes, it's not fun for her! I've even heard that some female cats will scream in the middle of mating.

Ok. Let us know which city you are closest to.

The vet will make a small incision and remove the uterus and ovaries. They will then use stitches, glue, or a combination to close up the incision. It's a very common surgery, and she will recover quickly while she is young.
