Wow what a great site! My thanks to those who put it all together. Im looking forward to contributing what I can and listening and learning from others here. My boys are Arnold and Greg. Arnold's full name is Arnold Dominus Maximus Terminator Schwarzenegger as he weighs in at 22lbs. His little brother, Greg, short for "gregarious" is 19 lbs. They are maternal twins and just over 3 years old. These are big boned heavy set cats. We adopted them as their family was relocated to Florida and did not want to take them. What a loss for that family as we absolutely love these guys. Not a day goes by that they dont make us laugh and fill us with joy. We were told the cats are a mix of blue russian and some other breed. Perhaps at sometime someone might be able to help us identify " the other half". I am curious and it might help us better identify any future health issues, develop our relationship with them and better understand their personalities. Here are some pics of Arnold and Greg.

I typically spend only 3 or 4 minutes a day brushing each of them.

They are well trained and behaved. When I bring them in (they are watched and kept on their leads outside), I simply tap on the patio table top, they jump up one at a time and I brush them and give them a few treats. Surprisingly this is actually a bonding time for Greg and I, as he flops down and begins to purr. However knots of fur can develop behind their "arms" and on their chest. I have to very very carefully trim out these knots with scissors and brush out the remainder

of the entanglement.

Short answer is they dont require nearly as much brushing as I expected.

Thank you, I will post there and hopefully get some help. I do have some ideas about their background but would like to know what other more experienced cat lovers think.

What a happy ending for your tabbytom. His sad begining makes him even more special.

Arnold and Greg stopped being kittens abkut 2 1/2 years ago, but I dont know how to change that status.

Welcome to TCS!

I usually hang around the breed forums, so I can give you a quick answer to your question! Cats who can get as large as yours without being overweight (which I can tell your cats aren't) likely have a giant breed in their ancestry. In your cats' case, I think that would be Norwegian Forest Cat, based on their build and the fact that they have a triangular-shaped head. NFCs do come in blue!

I hope to see you around the forums!

Thanks for your help.

Arnold does need to loose 2 lbs. Both cats are on low calorie wet and dry food....both grain free.

Both both are very solid muscular cats, unlike a blue russian which they are apparently mixed with.

When I am downstairs and the cats are chasing each other upstairs, it almost sounds like a couple of kids running around. They

are about as graceful as clydesdales on ice skates, sliding on the hardwood floor.

Yes, we were happy that we could rescue him and nurse his open wound and it's back to normal now. He is indeed very special to us and we love him very much.

Which status are you referring to? Is it the orange tag below the your avatar that says kitten? That title is not referring to Arnold and Greg. It's just a title given to members according to their number of postings they have in Catsite.
